Re: Proudly in possession of a ResMed S8 AutoSet II
I'll admit my AutoSet has been the only 'pap I've owned so far, but I do love what it does for my sleep and how easy it is to use. Saw my brother's new Respironics CPAP last weel when I was visiting him, and I am glad that I have my ResMed as it looks nicer in my mind, and easier to get at the on-sc...

Re: Changing the clocks BOO!
I don't mind the fall change, as it gives me an extra hour of sleep, but I do hate with a passion the spring change as I lose an hour of sleep. I think the whole DST thing is pointless in this day and age. Enegy savings? Really? Show me the proof. Arizona and Saskatchewan have the right idea.

Re: Enhancement request: equipment image titles
Great idea. When I access this site at work, the images are blocked by the "nanny" software, since for some reason, they website they reside on are blocked.

Re: Starting to Believe
I see that you have a ResMed machine. I don't know how different the controls are on the Elite as compared to the AutoSet that I use, but I image they would be similar. First off, if the machine is the same, the "start/stop" button doubles up as the mask fit feature. Put your mask on, then press and...

Don't give up. Sorry to hear you've been given the run around. Keep pestering whoever you need to until things happen. I know it's exhausting to do that, but it's definitely worth it in the end. As for the fully data capable machine, insist on it. If they can't help you, I'm sure a lot of us here ca...

Re: And the wait begins...
Thanks, guys. The 4.0 pressure was set by the sleep clinic I went to in town and that's what they recommended, however when I mentioned it to the place I ordered from, they seemed to think it sounded low, but would have someone qualified look at it to see if that was acceptable. I guess it was. I th...

Re: And the wait begins...
I don't think there was a single pressure listed on my prescription. It's set to auto mode, and the pressure range I believe is set between 4.0 and 16.0. I used it last night without the EPR on and had a good sleep (felt like the older Vantage machine). Pulled these readings off it this morning (no ...

Re: And the wait begins...
Thanks! It arrived today, and I got everything out of the box, and it's exactly as I ordered it. Should be good night's sleep tonight! Should I try the EPR (Expiration Pressure Relief) feature? The AutoSet Vantage that I had for my trial didn't have it and I seemed to do just fine, but wondering if ...

Re: And the wait begins...
Just checked the tracking on my unit, and it says that it is out for delivery today.
I should be able to sleep with it tonight.

Re: Sleep Study at home?
Both sleep studies I've ever had done were at home. 5 years ago when I lived in British Columbia, I had one done (didn't choose to get a CPAP back then, chalk it up to ignorance). It was very basic, I know for sure an oximeter, there may have been one other sensor, but I honestly can't remember what...

Just got my insurer approval today, so I've gone ahead to order my AutoSet II. It should be here within 5 business days.

Re: Resmed AutoSet II clinical menu settings
Send me a PM with your email and I will send you a PDF of the full clinical manual that explains all that and more. Alternately, you may already have it on CD or DVD rather than a booklet. Is the offer still open? I'm in the process of getting one (waiting for insurance approval right now), and wou...

Re: Resmed S8 Model Confusion
I don't know all the models, but I am a little familiar with two of them. I used the AutoSet Vantage (with HumidAire 3i) for my one week CPAP trial. Set with a 20 minute ramp (starting pressure of 4.0), then automatic. First CPAP I ever used, and I liked it. I've been told this is the older version ...

Re: And the wait begins...
I'm not really either. I've fallen asleep both on my sides and on my back, but I don't think I necessarily stay in the same position. The initial sleep study sensors indicated I turned throughout the night, which is what I suspected. Last night wasn't as bad - got to bed a little earlier, so hit sno...

Re: And the wait begins...
Yes, I definitely kept copies.
I'm having a tough time with waking up in the morning without the machine. Woke up very grumpy and tired both days over the weekend, and this morning, slept in, kept hitting snooze for almost an hour and a half. Never had those problems while I was on the CPAP trial.
