Thanks. I am thinking about replacement and will talk to the Ins co. Obama care would probably fine me for asking as I am an older white male.
Probably replace this year is best I guess.

New Apap noises?
HI all. My Apap recently is making a noise that annoys the wife. (maybe I should sleep at the GF's? LOL) When I use the machine at night my exhale has a wheeze or small whine at the end of it. It is noticeable. At some point it stops whining during the night. I dont have a clue what causes it. It do...

Re: Blood in nose?
yep it is the nose pillows thats doing it. I used to bleed daily in the morning and just thought I was having spontaneous nose bleeds. Once I got rid of the nose pillow mask and went to something else the bleeds stopped. Now my nose openings are so large none of the available pillows would fit anyway.

Re: New and Frustrated
Cindy dear, welcome. If you have a dr who isnt letting you be in control you need a new doctor. Even your family practice dr can write the script. It need not be the sleep dr. If you are comfy at 7 I would set at 7-20 instead of 4-20. My setting on cpap was 20 and when I reset mine to 4-20 I hated i...

Re: Should my mask be blowing air away from me all the time?
I know your problem. I sometimes think the developers of these masks and paps are not OSA patients and don't even know any. Vents blow on you not away. The expensive mask to avoid leaks actually leaks more than the cheap one. "Just adjust the straps properly" There IS no properly for my face! And wh...

aromatherapy and night sinus problems
HI all. The one constant I have had since going on cpap/apap has been sinus issues from the 'breeze'. I once was at 14 cm/h2o and am now at 20 cm/h2o so its even more so now. It doesnt help that I am seemingly allergic to Florida! I sometimes will take an alka seltzer cold tablet with water before b...

Re: Changing From Nasal Mask to Nasal Pillow...Pressure Question
not in my experience. The pressure you need is the pressure you need. The pillows are like a blast for a bit but I quickly got to love them when I was at 14. They are very addictive and I hated anything else for a long time.

Re: On my way to the Sleep Clinic
I second the shorts and tee shirt. Keep take a longs to a minimum as they just seem in the way. I took wallet for ID and keys only ( the machine and mask I had also of course). I have had two or three studies and like them better in a hospital than in a clinic. You will probably be tired in the morn...

Re: Why is it necessary to have a support team?
For me the closest I have seen to a real support group is this forum. My Dr writes the orders for studies and equipment but knows little. The DME pushes what they want to sell then disappears unless you are willing to spend money. Very few real places understand the cpap wearer like cpap.com and cpt...

Re: Mask & Facial Hair
I now mostly use a comfort gel with so-so results. I sleep on my left side mostly and at 20cm/h2o it may be that I cannot use nose pillows. I am not sure but hate to spend the money on a hope. Im unemployed since April so any dollar not spent is a dollar for food or mortgage! My beard is short but h...

Nasal Pillows and Higher Pressures?
Hi there. I use an apap / cpap machine at 20cm pressure. I was told by one of two DME employees that my pressure setting was too much for nasal pillow head gear. The other employee thought it would be fine but was outvoted by the DME manager. The mask I use now leaks and is noisy (for me. might be f...

Re: Where A CPAP Newbie Should Start
Pulse Ox? Oximeter? O2 Saturation perchance? do I get that from a DME or from my Dr? and what does it tell me? If I need O2 added?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Poll: Are you happy with your current supplier? VOTE Please
Would you believe until recently I didnt know the DME was supposed to keep in touch after the delivery of the equipment? Multiple DME's and none of them were worth spit. This time I have a DME Florida Hospital. They told me that they will call me monthly for filter needs and I can have a new mask ev...
