Re: Old User, New CPAP - Auto Off won't work on REMStar?
One of the experts mentioned the other day that it might be the c-flex(or epr on the Resmed) that causes the two tone noise. I listened to it for so long and this never occurred to me. Might try fiddling with that. I wish it were a 2 tone noise...its actually THREE different pitches. I don't wish t...

Re: Old User, New CPAP - Auto Off won't work on REMStar?
Just have to say I got my 15mm hose, and I've been using it for about 2 weeks. Really is much lighter. I don't have a hose cover for this one, so its even lighter. I really do like it. There is no noise difference at all. And even with out the "snuggie" I don't have any rainout problems with my Syst...

Re: Old User, New CPAP - Auto Off won't work on REMStar?
Thanks, Pugsley. I'm glad you understood my question. On a different note, I Just ordered a 15mm hose. Since this software rev supports both sizes, I wanted to try out the lighter tube. Yes I'm aware of changing the settings. I might try my Pilaro again with it. I pretty much cannot tolerate a nasal...

Re: Old User, New CPAP - Auto Off won't work on REMStar?
Thanks for the suggestion, Pugsley. Yea, it took 45 seconds to shut off. That is unfortunate. My S8 took less that 10 seconds to shut off. If I let it blast that long, i'd get elbowed in the ribs. I guess I'll only get away with that if I'm sleeping solo. Oh well. I guess the Americans don't build t...

Old User, New CPAP - Auto Off won't work on REMStar?
I have been using my S8 for almost 4 years. I changed health plans, and the therapists said it was my option a new machine as since they are more comfortable with the REMStar Auto-A-Flex. Besides, there would be no charge for this. The C-Flex is different feeling then the S8's feature...kind of nice...

Re: Pilairo!
I purchased a Pilario online last week. I've been using the Activa LT, and wanted to try a 'pillow', and this new model sounded interesting. (I was unable to tolerate the Swift, which I tried 3 years ago when I first got my APAP. After figuring out I had to set my S8 to "Swift" mode (otherwise auto ...

Re: Aromatherapy at machine intake?
I have a shot glass near the intake on my APAP. Whenever I have trouble sleeping, I put a drop of Aura Cacia brand Lavender Essential oil on a piece of filter. Knocks me right out, and I've never really had any negative reaction from it in any way.

Re: Mask for a man with a full beard and a bald head
Being a bald guy with a big thick red beard and mustache, I'm entitled to an opinion I've been using the Resmed Activa LT for almost 3 years. This is a cushion type. I could not adapt to the nasal pillow type. A beard really makes no difference. The seal is only near your mustache. The pillow or cus...

I seem to like the Aura Cacia® brand Lavender oil.

Re: CPAP Aromatheraphy
I have a shot glass with a used (and rinsed) air filter from my ResMed S8 placed inside of it. I have a bottle of Oshadhi brand Highland Lavender essential oil. I sniffed many brands till I found one I loved - and did not have an excessive turpentine effulvia . I put a few drops in the shot glass ri...

Re: Will I have to shave my beard?
Keep in mind, with a nasal mask, it isn't your beard that makes a potential leak, its your mustache ! But please dont' go for the Menonite look...it isn't very lattering. Actually I have a thick beard and mustache, myself....and rarely have leaks with my Activa LT. Just keep your cushion clean (I wa...

Re: mask is moving my teeth
My jaw realigns every night, and my molars usually won't fully contact till mid day.
My mask just does that, and my Dentist didn't seem too concerned about it. I have to have my Activa LT a bit tighter because my mustache will cause a leak, and I don't fancy that hissing all night.

You could always push 2 twin beds together, their own sheets. Then no one could steal covers!

Re: Bed situation: Older married couples only
Can't be legally married, but after 26 1/2 years together, I'd say we're close to an "older married couple". Bed: European Sleep Works ( http://www.sleepworks.com/ ) Queen-sized. (I'm 5'9" 215, partner is 6'1" and 185). That bed is pure heaven . The slat system allows adjustments depending if you ar...
