Re: earache and cpap
Thanks for the replies. The earache is back. But now I am thinking it is my TMJ jaw joint. It hurts to chew. I think that it was the jaw all along and that the pain was referred to my ear. My teeth don't seem to line up like they used to. It's like my bite is off. This is all scaring me and I think ...

Re: Have you had Earache and headache
Yes, I have been having a earache on just the left side. I too, thought that it was pressure related but now I am thinking that it is referred pain from my TMJ joint. Searching the forums I find mentions that a full face mask or chin strap can cause or aggravate this. I searched for TMJ. I think "ea...

earache and cpap
I searched the forums to see if earaches caused by cpap is common and if there was a way to fix it. Looks like it is rather rare. I was getting an earache in my left ear that got worse as the night went on. It would slowly stop hurting through the day. I tried switching masks- did not help. I went w...

Re: Results all over the place
Last night was my best night ever with a 2.3 AHI I did claritin 1 hour before bedtime and made sure that my nose was clear at bedtime. But what probably made the most difference was I added a chinstrap when things did seem to be going well about 1 hr into the night. I am going to analyze the data af...

Re: Results all over the place
I had not thought of turning the humidity down. Thanks for the idea. I got a new liberty hybrid mask. It handles the varying pressure of the auto-set a lot better than the flexifit. I think that results are getting more consistent but I can't tell yet. The screen on my S9 went out so I had to get a ...

Re: Results all over the place
Thanks for all the info. Here what I plan to try: OTC allergy meds. These work well for me during the day. Maybe they will at night. Saline spray. This is pretty safe stuff. I can't see it hurting. Look for new bed. My current bed is too firm to side sleep on. Go back to all of my other side sleepin...

Results all over the place
I am back to trying cpap after failing 4 years ago. Now I am much better educated thanks to these boards. A week into it and my new S9 does not seem to be the enemy like my old goodknight did. The exhale relief and the lower prescribed pressure(s) seems to be making all the difference in my ability ...

Re: Still Struggling Months Later
I have not seen anyone suggest less pressure. If you are causing yourself to have central apneas with the high pressures you could be worse off and that might explain some of the data. Perhaps some of the long-time users could correct me here.

Re: Insurance Management
hawthorn, Yes, my dentist said I should be on CPAP. He is worried that a dental appliance will not be adequate. He says I should be ready to pay for the dental device without insurance. And he thinks that at the very least I should have a sleep study done while wearing the device to be sure it is wo...

Re: Insurance Management
I have reviewed my sleep study. They report that I am waking up every minute or so for 9 to 25 seconds. Had 2 central apneas and they consider me to have severe sleep apnea. The study was a split night. And during the titration part I rolled to my side. Looks like I sleep pretty well on my side. You...

Re: Insurance Management
I did not push the issue of getting a copy until my dentist encouraged me to do so. I called the sleep study company and they pushed me off into voicemail. I think that I had asked for it before. So I called the Dentists office and asked them to do it. They got a copy in just a few hours. They made ...

Insurance Management
I find myself intimidated by the process of getting equipment to try. I had my study 3.5 years ago, tried and failed at cpap. My quality of life was not that bad that I would be willing to use cpap. After spending some time reading here and watching how well I sleep. I think it might be worth the tr...
