Old New User
Sigh, I'm back. I used to post here several years ago when I used a bipap. But then I got rid of my machine. I hated using it. I got a respiratory infection that lasted, literally, months. I wasn't happy. And I got fed up. But I'm back. Did another sleep study and have a brand new machine. So I'm tr...

Yes. Which is why I said I'm getting back to it.Lukie wrote:I'm also wondering if your doctor educated you well on the serious consequences that come from untreated sleep apnea.

Re: Want to use my Cpap - but it's dirty
Philips Respironics M-Series REMstar Pro with Humidifier (C-FLEX) The M Series Pro cpap machine is a full data machine in terms of what was available when it was supplied. Doesn't do Clear airway, RERA or Flow limitation (that that's because it's fixed pressure) or wave flow rate graphs. Otherwise ...

Re: Want to use my Cpap - but it's dirty
So much for calling Phillips Respironics. Not helpful at all. I got transferred around the phone tree a while. Then I ended up with a recording that said, "Contact your DME." Never could get to a real person to ask for help. I did talk to my DME - needed to order the new hose and filters. I want to ...

Re: Want to use my Cpap - but it's dirty
Do you stil have the manuals?? If I do, I don't know where they are. So, I'm going to say "no" on that. Or you could call Phillips Resperonics. They are very helpful. Lol! That's a logical solution. And one that makes complete sense. I don't know why I didn't think of that (unless it's for the reas...

Want to use my Cpap - but it's dirty
Confession - it's been a long time since I've used my Cpap. I don't have a good excuse, but I just wasn't using it. I've decided that I need to get back to it. I'm going to do my best to be compliant (please don't beat me up for neglecting it - I'm going to try to do better). I tried boiling my hose...

Re: Swift FX for Her question (ear irritation)
I think robysue is getting which piece I'm talking about (and I'm going to try your suggestion - thanks! ) For the others of you who might not be understanding the piece I'm talking about - see the picture here: http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/sleep-disorders/2010/09/ResMed-Introduces-Swift-FX-For-Her...

Swift FX for Her question (ear irritation)
I know this topic has to have been discussed at some point, but I'm not finding it in my search. If it has, could someone help me out by directing me to the right thread. I've found a lot of answers to other questions about the mask, but not the one I'm searching for! I just got a new mask - this ti...

Is Snow White going to show up soon?
I'm suddenly feeling like Sleepy, so Snow White must be coming by soon. I've been doing so good lately. I've been wearing my mask all night for a couple of months now. And, just the other day, it occurred to me that I haven't felt like falling asleep at work in a while. I was so excited by this deve...

Re: Waiting for Wow factor to kick in
You really have to wear the Mask out to a party or store to get the real "wow" factor... Nord Very true. And, it helps even more if you decorate your mask some. Sparklies and streamers on the sides, glitter on the nosepiece, maybe something wrapped around the hose,..... The possibilities are endles...

Re: Fiddling with the mask and data results
I guess my concern is not as much what I'm going to see in the data, but what the doctor is going to see when the card is read after a longer period of time. He/she is going to notice these little blips in the data. I may or may not remember "Oh yeah! That was the night that I had a piece of my hair...

Re: Fiddling with the mask and data results
Still trying to get some actual help with this (no offense to the above poster, but this didn't help with my question all that much ). Ok, so are the rest of you turning your machines off if you have something quick happen? For instance, the other night, I had a piece of hair caught between my mask ...

I'm not saying he's not rational. I agree that he's incredibly so! But, when I came here and tried to get the same answers and had the same reservations, these are the same responses I got. Heck, I figured it was just the way things work here! There ain't no pussyfootin' around when you ask question...

Re: Long term effects of its use
OP, didn't you say you're 41? That's not that young to be diagnosed, you know! I was 42 (I'm 43 now). I agree with the previous poster - use the treatment. It does make a difference. I've only been wearing mine consistently for a few weeks (had some problems deciding I was going to do it). Don't mak...
