My reply to eBay's customer service questionnaire
"Because cpap masks, humidifiers, etc. are purchased outright by myself and other consumers... without prescriptions... we have the right to do what we want with them. We do not sign agreements with Resmed, Respironics or others to "not re-sell" their non-prescription products. It would appear that ...

Well, when all else fails there is Craigslist. I just listed my humidifier over there. Not exactly an auction, but it's something. They seem to allow all kinds of things, and after reading their policies I did not see anything questionable about listing my humidifier. After all, it does not require ...

ebay removed my humidifier listing!
I was selling a barely used Respironics heated humidifier and they just took the listing off their site, saying it was a medical device. Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe I should find another place to list it? Suggestions? Thank you!

Resmed S8 started "whirring"
Hi everyone, My Resmed S8 started "whirring" with every exhalation a few weeks ago, insighting a battle between me and my husband over noise. The machine had previously been good for the last 1.5 years, and now it does this! Does it sound like the blower is broken? My DME won't talk to me until my i...

Yes, come to think of it, it does make sense. I feel 100% better when the weather is dry... breathing in general, and my snoring always went away when the dry Santa Ana winds blew (in SoCal). But when we have more humid weather, I get a little out of breath. Hmmmmm. So what you are saying is that wi...

Hi Slinky, I smoked for approx. 15 years (I quit on the same calendar date that I started). You know, I tried my husband's breathing thing he got when he was in the hospital - they have you suck inward and a yellow floater thing goes up to a particular level. I found it hard to do and it left me all...

Kathy, Thank you. I had an all-in-one sleep study... no split. They let me sleep without the cpap at the beginning, and the rest of the night I had on various masks and all kinds of pressure changes. I never did go back to sleep because they kept jacking the pressure around or coming in to change th...

SK, Thank you for your reply. Yes, my results are questionable. I don't think the lab did a good job at all. The oxygen saturation is odd. Everything seems off! I hope that the next sleep study reveals more accurate numbers. At the very least, I would be very pleased to have a much lower rate of pre...

Is This Severe, Moderate or Mild OSA?
Hi Everyone, I'm currently waiting for a second sleep study, as I recently questioned the one I had back in Jan. 06. At that time, I did not sleep after they put the mask on, and they kicked me out of the lab at 4:30 a.m.! Then they put me on a titration of 13 cm! Anyway, I got a copy of the test re...

Yeah, this place is the best for information and help. We're all in it together, and it's a great community to belong to. I think my pressure should be lower. In fact, I lowered it to 11 and have found this to be good for me, allowing for more compliance. At 13 I was blown out of the water and could...

How can Sleep Lab determine pressure when I hardly slept?
Just curious... I was thinking back to Jan. 2006 when I had my sleep study. I slept for one hour, after which they woke me to put on the cpap gear. I did not sleep the rest of the night, and they kicked me out at 4:30 a.m.! How in the heck, then, could they have determined that I need a pressure of ...

Does the M series Pro have that C-flex thing? I am interested in that... as the Remstar M simply does not let me exhale at 13. I do use the Swift nasal pillow mask, which doesn't work very well at a high pressure... in any case, I am going to Apria on Tuesday and will continue to use my Resmed S8 un...

Noisy Remstar M-Series - It whistles!
I love to complain... but when you have a cpap stuck to your face every night, you have every right! I just switched from a Resmed S8 to a Remstar M-Series (no C-flex) and cannot use it... it seems that about 10 minutes into being on in ramp mode the darn thing whistles... and gets louder when I exh...

How do I reset pressure on Remstar M-Series?
Switching from my Resmed S8 to the Remstar tonight. Previously I lowered the pressure on my Resmed from 13 to 12, because I was being blasted out of the water... and I want to know how to do the same with the Remstar C-pap (not C-flex version). Anyt tips would be welcome! Thank you.
