Re: Weight Loss, energy levels
EDIT: Oh yeah, at 12 months I started a very low carb eating plan. When I added 125 mgs of grape seed extract a few months ago, my ginormous appetite finally disappeared and made sticking to my chosen eating plan a whole easier. Well you sold me! I was just looking at GNC's site and they have 300mg...

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?
I heard in about two posts here that they don't clean the water tank at all and they use distilled water only. I, too, only use distilled water. But my user's guide says to clean the tank every day. Personally I don't see the need to do it. But if I don't do it, I feel like it is dirty. It's only w...

Wow that's very effficient! But yea, that really is a good idea. You're a lot like me, detail oriented.Lou Cypher wrote:I use distilled water and wipe it dry every morning, even using Qtips to get in corners..

Re: CPAPtalk Posts On Twitter
I don't get it, why would one need to qualify to report a post as spam? And how do you qualify? I don't have a spam button, thus I don't have a twitter button. But I am glad it is there for those have access to it.

Re: POLL: What two symptoms lead you to have a PSG?
I think my userid says it all, I couldn't breathe!
How does one find this out? I find that I have trouble taking deep breaths without the cpap, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case for me as well.MoneyGal wrote:My "other" (so far it's the only one there) was low daytime O2 saturation.

Re: Will You Get the Swine Flu Vaccine?
Two separate questions Will you take the swine flu vaccine when it is available? Do you consider sleep apnea alone to be a chronic medical condition? For the H1N1 strain, the NFID recommended the following patient populations be vaccinated: •People 6 months to 24 years old •Pregnant women •Healthca...

Re: Will You Get the Swine Flu Vaccine?
Can the folks who answered "NO" to the chronic question provide your rationale why you answered that way? I've seen several explanations from those who answered "YES" (including my own), but none from the "NO" group. In my mind chronic implies 24/7. I have arthritis, I have it 24/7. It is a chronic...

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Clean Your Tank?
What do you use to clean your tank with? I personally don't want to put any Arizona tap water in my tank as the water here is very hard. That's a very good question. After reading the other thread/poll about what people use in their humidifier, if one uses distilled water only then why clean it wit...

CPAP machine keeping me awake??
I don't know what it is, but I can't sleep with the CPAP machine. Is it the mask? Is it the sound of my breathing in and out? I don't know. I do know that if I keep a regular schedule and without napping (down at 9pm and up at 6), I can't sleep and wake up several times in the night. But if I go to ...

Re: AHI and RDI
I was reading the results again and it says diagnosis was "OSA (severe in REM, with O2desat)". So I guess that is why it was diagnosed as severe. No biggie I know. Just a curiosity. Thanks folks.

Re: AHI and RDI
I understand they are just numbers, I am just trying to understand my situation. My AHI is moderate yet I would think that a REM 72.7 is pretty severe since REM sleep is more important than deep sleep (at least that is what the specialists tell me). Before the cpap my mouth and airway were incredib...

AHI and RDI
I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. During my sleep study, my AHI was 17.0. But my REM AHI was 72.7 and REM RDI was 77.3.
So does the high REM AHI numbers mean I have severe sleep apnea or is it just the initial AHI, or both?
And what is RDI?
Thanks,
NSA
