Re: Full Face Mask + Chinstrap?
I have a chin strap question. (I use nasal pillow mask and plan to check out the bike cuff). The only thing that has worked 100% for me is an eye mask with an elastic plus Velcro strap. How I imagine this works is that I open my mouth and the elastic snaps it back closed. I cannot completely freeze ...

Re: Camping battery
I’m curious how the camping trip went. I camped by battery and no humidifier successfully 5 years or so back, but this year my nose wouldn’t tolerate it and I had to remove after 2 hours. Since my apnea is mostly early morning I ended up going to sleep without the cPAP and popping it on when I awake...

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Thanks, all! The perverse thing is that I was properly packed but had to delay leaving until the following morning because of work horrors. So like a good girl I unpacked the Cpap and used it the night before the trip. There was also a point i realized I hadn't packed the cord but got distracted the...

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
My laptop brick cord and $15 ace hardware box fan cords are all interchangable. Got one in travel trailer one, in bedroom, one plugged in in living room, one in cpap travel bag. I'd probably forget the hose! jlk I'm very tempted to go buy a fan! Actually, don't have my own car here either. I'll be ...

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Did you remember the power brick, just forgot the cord between the brick and wall? I read another post like this once where the front desk at the hotel had a lost & found and there were a few 2-pin power cords in there which worked on the post submitter's cpap machine. Unfortunately no brick either...

Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Just venting. I'm on a relaxing weekend away and dutifully packed my machine. The power cord is apparently still in the wall socket at home. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Luckily I have two at-home nights before going back to work, and luckily it's not more than a 3 day weekend. Am propping myself up as b...

Re: Can +1 Make Much Difference?
Even 0.5cm can make a difference. A night on 10cm is vastly different than a night on 10.5cm for me. And at 11cm I start getting centrals. A very fine line between therapy and disaster indeed! What Bookbear said!! Ditto - but in my case .5 was a positive change from ineffective therapy to working t...

Home for M Series Pro humidity chamber?
When I switched DMEs and machines to the PR System One my humidity chamber from the Respironics M series was left behind because the DME had no way to sterilize it. It was used about 3 months, doesn't show any particular damage, and I couldn't bring myself to simply throw it in the trash if it can b...

Awesome! I'm jealous, too. My good periods run between 1-2, although I have hit below 1 a few times. Good for you, and so quickly, too!

Re: No going back...
I would never willingly skip a night. I did, however, find myself unexpectedly spending the night near work 55 miles from home. I made the best of it by propping myself semi-upright. For days during this time period I carted my equipment back and forth in case I got stuck again. There are downsides ...

Re: Nasal Pillow Users -- 50 ways to seal your mouth
I use the Swift LT for Her. The PapCap chin strap eliminated virtually all leaks--you might look into it. Unfortunately the type of downward pressure causes tension in my neck. I don't breathe through my mouth every night, but I need to wear some sort of chin strap to make sure that doesn't happen. ...

Re: POLL: How Have You Handled The Ramp Setting On Your Machine?
I don't need the ramp setting for comfort at all. At one point I used it for an alternate purpose--to track middle-of-the-night awakenings. I reset the ramp to 5 minutes, one notch below my normal pressure setting. While I was trying to closely scrutinize what was going on in the middle of the night...

Re: POLL: How would you rate YOUR success (1-10) w/ PAP therapy?
I'm really pleased to see that so many, at least on this Forum, are doing so well. I second and third most of the comments on the board. The most I could wish for to be 10+ is no sores in the nose at all, easy battery pack for camping and black-outs, and no runny nose, ever. Well, and easier DME pro...

Light at End of the Tunnel - big Hi & thanks to forum
I've been away from the forum for ages and working through an intense job-related period. To any new folks that see this, know that a year earlier I would not have been able to navigate the challenges (pre-CPAP). I barely have to think about my treatment now. To the long-timers on this forum, thank ...

Re: What masks work well for serious side-sleepers?
I use the Swift LT for Her and originally was forced to my back because I'm a pillow-burrowed. What has worked for me is a K-Mart contour foam pillow. The front of my face hangs off the straight edge. I'm also on a foam wedge and it's perfect. If traveling I have to boost the height with another fla...
