Re: Zeo Personal Sleep Coach?
This has been a fascinated thread to follow, As I wondered how the CPAP world would react to the Zeo. I ordered one last night and we'll see how it goes. Maybe the sleep lab industry could spent a little of that mountain of cash and buy and couple of these to test. Mountain of cash? LOL truly not th...

Re: OT: Pray for me please
For centuries, people of faith have offered prayers for the sick, often with dramatic results. More recently, medical research has shown consistent proof that healing prayers definitely have positive results for the sick. But this is nothing new; the Bible taught this 2,000 years ago! Acts 28:8-9 Hi...

If they are a quality lab and if they care, they will accommodate you. If they don't tell your doctor and find another lab that will.

Re: Zeo Personal Sleep Coach?
I think Zeo has done an exceptional marketing job of this product. I applaud their effort in bringing awareness to the importance of sleep and proper sleep architecture. However I am a bit skeptical. We are running Phillips Respironics Alice 5, grass electrode (gold) with Ten20 eeg conductive gel (U...

Re: What do I need to know?
So far everyone thinks tv in the room is the choice, (my partner is pushing me to put them up to) I was worried I would get this kinda of feed back... I guess my reasoning is that we are sleep professionals and trying to create an environment ideal for sleeping, and encourage (preach) proper sleep h...

What do I need to know?
I have been reading this site religiously to get insight into the needs, problems and triumphs of apnea patients. I have contributed when I felt it was appropriate and even had the great opportunity to meet and test a patient from this forum. I have started a sleep center in Denver (my second, first...

Food for Thought
I had an interesting conversation/interaction with a patient recently. She is very happy with her therapy and had great results (So good she stated it had changed her life), however she wanted to upgrade her machine and asked about auto pap and data capability, we talked about it and I suggested the...

Re: Is My Heart Rate Spike Normal Or Do I Have A Problem
I would consult an Electrophysiologist as they are specialist in this area.
Your cardiologist should have recomendations if he has not suggested this perhaps you could suggest it to him.

Re: bought a cpap (no prescription)
Well ... as a fan of this website, why not share the alternative less expensive ways/methods with the website members? I know I'm not the only one who would like to know. I have mentioned these alternatives on different post with patients that are on a budget or not having health care coverage. I u...

Re: bought a cpap (no prescription)
Nate, I am a sleep professional who currently has a sleep center. I am a big fan of this website and all the caring people. However there seems to be a riff between users (patients) and professionals (rt's and sleep technologists) on this site. I hope that could change. I know the people on this sit...

Re: Am ready to jump out of my skin!!
I hope I can help, would need a little more insight... What is your dx? OSA, CSA or hypoventilaion? You have a BiPAP auto which is a good thing, this unit should provide you with a sleep report that gives details of your sleep activity in regards to the pressure delivered. I don't think you should h...

Re: no machine can force a breath, so how central apnea treated?
When BiPAP ST is in timed mode it provides specific tidal volume. tidal volume: Tidal volume is the lung volume representing the normal volume of air displaced between normal inhalation and exhalation when extra effort is not applied. When in ST mode it works as a traditional ventilator. A nasal mas...

Re: no machine can force a breath, so how central apnea treated?
Central sleep apnea is when you repeatedly stop breathing during sleep because the brain temporarily stops sending signals to the muscles that control breathing. BiPAP ST is generally used to treat this type of apnea, ST (stands for spontaneous timed). The machine is set to recognize that the patien...
