Re: Question about Flow Limitations
I always enjoy learning from threads about flow limitations. Just a quick question/observation: In the first chart the respiratory rate is very high compared with the second chart. Any idea why this might be the case and would this be connected to the FLs reported? I'm not really breathing twice as...

Re: Question about Flow Limitations
I see several wake ups where you turned the machine off...any reason why? Can you tell any difference in how you feel this morning compared to yesterday? The higher pressure wakes me, with aerophagia or dry mouth or sometimes just because I perceive that I'm fighting to breathe. So I whack the mach...

Re: Question about Flow Limitations
Here is last night's chart. Still a fair bit of FL but not nearly as much once the setting was changed. So how does the Autoset for Her differ, in order to do this?

Re: Question about Flow Limitations
I do have life-long allergy and sinus problems, but I feel it's pretty much under control through routine use of allergy pills, nasal rinse and decongestant. This also isn't a high-allergy time of year for me. If allergies were the issue I'd think it would get worse over the course of the night as t...

Question about Flow Limitations
I've been on CPAP for nearly 10 years, with the pressure at 5. For the past month I've been testing out a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for Her, set to min 5 and max 12. Still using the same Swift LT nasal pillows as always. It's taken a while for me to get used to the higher pressure -- for the first ...

Re: Need moisture but not heat
Lately, I've only been able to wear my mask for a couple of hours each night because after that I wake with a throat so dry and sore that I can't tolerate it. I can't use the heated humidifier because I require a cold environment in order to sleep. If you have a nasal mask/pillows this means you ar...

Re: Need moisture but not heat
So, I guess the next question is -- what should my next machine be, to get some humidity but not heat?Pugsy wrote:She has a Respironics M series machine. Options are limited and none that really will help much with wanting moisture but not heat.zoocrewphoto wrote:What machine do you have?

Re: Need moisture but not heat
Still we don't know where she lives and what the humidity is outside. My own personal take on the situation...doesn't matter what the humidity is outside because she needs the windows open to get the desired temperature down to where she is comfortable sleeping so she can sleep. You've got it. I li...

Re: Need moisture but not heat
Might be a stupid Question here - but isn't the cold room (via the open window) just getting rid of the humidity added by the Humidifier because you are letting in drier colder air into a room that has more humid air? Just sounds like a vicious cycle to me. It definitely is. But without the window ...

Re: Need moisture but not heat
My machine...if I turn the Climate Control off...will allow me to adjust the humidity level and the temperature separately. Can you do that with whatever machine you are using? To stop rainout, I still have to use the heated hose and a Pad-a-Cheek hose cover. I also have bad allergies and congestio...

Re: Need moisture but not heat
Ask your local pharmacist for a longer acting version of chlortrimeton. My pharmacist said he could order a longer acting version, but the pill is larger, and I have trouble swallowing pills. So, I still use the 4 hour pills. My pharmacist says that the long-acting version is no longer available in...

Re: Need moisture but not heat
That daily use of a decongestant nasal spray is NOT helping. When used for more than three days, the decongestant nasal sprays start to trigger rebound congestion . In other words, your nose is likely getting congested about an hour or two before you usually squirt the decongestant spray into the n...

Hi all, I'm hoping some of you have the same problem I do and can offer some advice. Lately, I've only been able to wear my mask for a couple of hours each night because after that I wake with a throat so dry and sore that I can't tolerate it.
