Re: S9 design flaw?

I was using Swift FX midium size and my S9 turns on within 1 second when I put on the mask and turns off within 2 seconds when the mask is removed. However, I have recently switched my FX to a small size, since then, S9 will still turn on within 1 sec but it will no longer turn off automatically. I ...

Re: Initial Start Pressure of ResMed S9 & EPR

I have my S9 set at auto, pressure range 7 to 15 and EPR at 3 full time. I do feel a big difference with EPR on. I can feel the pressure reduction and it definitely made it much easier when exhale. I am surprised to hear so many of you can't feel the difference with or without EPR. Perhaps there is ...

Re: s9 questions

Ron, I have the same issue - my humidifier plate stays cold unless the setting is at 5 or 6. I am in Houston and is pretty humid here in the summer.

Singing helps to sleep apnea?

I heard that singing can be beneficial to apnea patients. It acts as an exercise to strengthen the muscle from collapsing during sleep. I guess you have to sign a lot to have any effect. Has anyone heard about this or know there is actually any medical evidence?

Need recommendarion for an oximeter

Can anyone please recommend a small portable or fingertip pulse Oximeter with software that I can buy?
I need a oximeter to measure my oxygen level since my average AHI stays up in the 9-10 range. I like to find out if my CPAP therapy is effective or not

Thanks. Tony

Re: Is an avegare of 6 AHI good enough?

Thank you all for the comments. I was using the PR system One Auto and was set at Aflex=2 and min 5 and max 12. My 90% pressure ranges from 5.5 to about 7.5 and my last 30 day average is 6.7. The machine never detected any leakages, the reading for the 7 day average and 30 average are always 0. Howe...

Is an avegare of 6 AHI good enough?

I have been using the PR One for about 7 months now and my 30 days average AHI always falls between 5 and 7. I am always in awe when I read in this forum that people can achieve AHI in the decimal points range and even 0. Is an average of AHI 6 good enough? or should I aim for a better therapy resul...

I heard from a friend posted in overseas that there is a software firm in India or Singapore created a software that could read the data cards from PR machines and creates customized reports for both doctors and patients. Has anyone heard about this?

Re: HOW TO: Disable Speaker on Philips Respironics System One

Jdm5, I totally agree with you the beeps are sooooooo annoying, but I also find the loud clicking sound when you press the turning wheel to turn the machine on/off or to select the menu items. That loud click sounds plus the annoying beeps wake my wife up whenever I get up and go to the John in the ...

Re: This ever happen to you?

I am a newbie here so please forgive me if this is a dumb question - but I find this topic confusing. When my mask is accidentally knocked off or if I removed it to go to the john in the middle of the nights, it makes a hell out of venting noise that could weak up any sleepyheads. How come you all d...
