Re: Nasal Breathing Aids
I think I have a narrow and at times blocked nose problem. Mild eviated septum and a few allergies. I have a full face mask - but usually breathe through my nose - as far as I can tell. I use nasonex and astelin sprays and they help, but the device I insert in my nose seems to help as well. I have r...

Nasal Breathing Aids
Anyone have any thoughts, or info on things like "breathe right" strips, and the like? I am trying one type now (I won't give the name) that seems to keep my nasal passages open. It can easily be used with cpap. (one of my troubles with cpap was that my nose would not be open enough - or at least it...

Thanks for your reply.
I will try to find out her machine and mask.

Re: High Pressure
Equipment below is mine. If I asked her what she has - she probably wouldn't know. But I will ask.
I was thinking, as you mentioned, that the doctor's thought was that she needs to fail on cpap first, and then can use an BIPAP or APAP or something else. I am familiar only with CPAP.

High Pressure
I have a friend who just got diagnosed and they have her pressure at 18 ! Leaks all over the place, but she is committed to making it work. I don't have much more info, other than that she is a mouth breather. Can anyone point me to some helpful (and simple) info? I think she got a new mask last wee...

Re: aerophagia - swallowing air
Earlier in the same thread: "I recently talked with my somnodoc about aerophagia (the buildup of gas during *PAP therapy). We also discussed reflux (I've had reflux issues in the past, but those symptoms have disappeared since I started therapy). What I took away from him is that my reflux issues an...

Re: aerophagia - swallowing air
Well, I would like to avoid the issue alltogether. In searching here is the first link worth sharing - sounds dangerous: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t37517/viewtopic.php?p=327210#p327210 "When I had a fixed CPAP machine set at 10, it inflated me like a circus balloon daily and it was very pain...

aerophagia - swallowing air
I have been using cpap on 10 cm for about four months. Had a few occurrences of swallowing air - but nothing serious. Just some passing gas in the morning. Two of the last three days I have had serious air swallowing - I couldn't stand up straight, some pepto bismal helped a little, but I had to wai...

Re: Adrenal Fatigue
I understand that Vitaming D is fat soluable - thus if you take too much for you it can cause problems. And if you take too little for you it may cause problems. I had a blood test done to determine that I was so low.
I suppose most people know this, but just in case...

Re: Question for Full Face Mask users
I use the Fitlife total face mask. Also have the comfort gel full face mask which works ok, and the mirage liberty which leaks too much on me.
But your face may vary !

Re: Adrenal Fatigue
For what it is worth, vitamin D insufficiency is common and sunshine does not necessarily help you produce enough. I am trying to remember, but I think it is something like 10-30% of people need vitamin D supplements, by a few estimates I have read. It is some figure that is higher than researchers ...

Re: Giving the Fit Life a Try
I have now been using the Fitlife for a few months...wake up with a ring around my face (where the mask seals) which I hope doesn't lead in the long-term to scarring. I suspect for back sleepers this would not happen, but I sleep on my side and/or stomach and this puts additional pressure on the ar...

Re: OT - anyone actually had the bed bugs bite?
Unfortunately, I have become a semi expert on bedbugs recently as the place I work has gotten them twice (a residential facility for people with disabilities). You need a good company to work with you, and treatment it involves lots of vacuuming and drying. And decluttering. The wikipedia page has L...
