Do I need software? & How often to have calibration checked?
I have a ResMed S8 Escape Cpap with a pressure setting of 9. I have been on CPAP for 3 years and am 100% compliant. I just had my CPAP replaced by Resmed as part of the S8 recall that happened in 2007. When I got the new machine, I noticed as soon as I turned it on that it sounded like it was blowin...

Re: problem with my S8 Escape.
Well, I got my new machine. It is an S8 Ecape, just like the broken one. I'm thrilled with it. The new one's broken too? Congrats! Now you can open up the old one, take pics and upload 'em for us to see. lol .... it took me a sec to realize what you meant about the new one being broken. Unfortunate...

Re: FLY BOMB and my CPAP machine
My approach would be 2 fold. #1. Take Johnny up on his VERY generous offer. Your health is not worth a risk. The money spent on a new CPAP is money well spent when you consider the peace of mind you will receive in exchange. #2. Follow all the directions from the good folks here to clean your old CP...

Re: Switching from Respironics to ResMed
I just called cpap.com and he indicated that the water chamber that is included in the H3i to H4i conversion kit, includes the washable water chamber. I was surprised and excited to see this. Since the conversion kit is $36 and the washable chamber is $55 all by itself. I just called to check with ...

Re: problem with my S8 Escape.
All I can say is WOW. I just called the recall line for the ResMed recall. The recall was initiated in April of 2007. I was on an automated system for 3 or 4 minutes .... just long enough to choose my language and enter my serial number. The auto system verified my S/N was affected by the recall and...

Re: Swift LT-Burns Nose.
I got my LT in April/May to replace my Swift II that was chewed up by one of my dogs. It was an emergency-type replacement on a Sunday afternoon, so I ended up having to purchase the mask out-of-pocket. I really dislike this mask (I refuse to use the word hate for anything ). I would MUCH prefer to ...

Re: problem with my S8 Escape.
How about plugging it into a surge protector strip that has a convenient (rocker-type) switch that's easy to turn on or off. That way, you could just leave the CPAP machine switch in the On position and just turn it on or off with the surge strip. Den Thanks for the thought, Den, but with the S8 Es...

Re: problem with my S8 Escape.
just a thought....check your serial # to make sure your unit wasn't part of the recall (list on Resmed's website as to affected serial numbers). Thanks for the info...yet again, my old, crappy DME didn't bother to notify me about this. I checked the list and my CPAP IS affected by this recall. I'm ...

Re: problem with my S8 Escape.
Thanks for the comments so far. Like I said, the old DME company won't even talk to me any more. They wouldn't even fax my prescription to the new company. They ignored the faxed request and then told the new DME company that they didn't have any of the info when they called. They aren't willing to ...

I love this machine and now It is broken and I am broken-hearted. The Start/Stop switch is broken. When I push it to start the machine, it stays pushed in. I can ...
