BiPAP stop itself 7 times last night, why?

Just checked my data, my BiPAP stopped itself 7 times last night. for 10~20 minutes each.

I haven't waken up for the whole night, and I am pretty sure I don't sleep walk.

So what could be the cause?

Re: Oxygen Desturation Index -- we need help -- Muffy et al. ?

yet the question that's really on the table is "What is the value of oximetry in routine monitoring of xPAP therapy?", to which I would reply "almost none". I think it depends. For my case, I only started xPAP 3 weeks ago. Without getting an oximeter, I would have no idea that every night my SpO2 l...

Hi twokatmew, thank you for pointing that out. I fixed the picture link, hopefully you all can see the figure.

Poll: your lowest SpO2% level for a typical night?

Based on my understanding, one major goal for xPAP treatment is to eliminate Oxygen desaturations. So it make sense to confirm the effectiveness by oximeter. So what is your lowest SpO2% level for a typical night? by using xPAP of course. I also appreciate if people can share their SpO2% figures. Fo...

Re: Encore Analyzer Variable Breathing Poll

I posted the following to another thread, Re: (Another) Respironics Encore Data Failure, that Velbor started and I have been participating in. Since I may be at the low % end re experiencing Variable Breathing, I thought it might be useful for me to post my sample Night Events charts, with and with...

Re: Those that wear Hybrids and have Higher pressure?

I need feedback from those that wear Hybrid type masks with a pressure of 14 and above, do you have problems with the pillows blowing out? I am having alot of problems accomidating my wide nose bridge, I wear a small mask, but need more room width wise for the bridge of my nose, and I don't see bei...

morning face marks

I started xPAP ~20 days ago. Struggled with masks. First Respironics ComfortGel, then a Resmed Liberty, then started Respironics FullLife 3 days ago. I found the Fulllife mask leave marks in the morning. on nise and cheeks. Does that mean make it too tight? My BiPAP level is 18/14 and I have fatty c...

most apnea/O2 desat happens right after falling sleep (fig)

I got my oximeter last week. I compared the SpO2 reports with BiPAP data everyday. They are consistent. For every intensive apnea event (by intensive, I mean multiple apnea events happened in a very short period, large chunk purple mark in Encore Pro report), the SpO2 level dropped below 90%. We hav...

Re: benadryl?

(since I no longer need cpap treatment) Dr. Falcon, that's a very good demonstration, I sort of self-developed the similar sleep position. Glad to hear experts actually recommend this. You mentioned you don't need cpap anymore. It's very encouraging to hear that. I started xPAP treatment 2 weeks ag...

Re: What does "backup rate" mean in polysomnograph report?

Thank you guys. Now I understand what "backup rate" means. I assume the sleep doc wrote the "backup rate" in report so that whoever setup the machine will adjust this setting, just like EPAP/IPAP settings. But I went through the provider mode menu of respironics BiPAP, I can see these options: thera...

What does "backup rate" mean in polysomnograph report?

The sleep doc wrote such in polysomnograph report: "The patient seemed to be best at CPAP/BiPAP pressure of 18 inspiration/14 expiration, with a backup rate of 12 .... If BiPAP ineffective, adaptive servo-ventilation is also an option for treatment of complex sleep apnea" My question is: What does "...

Re: Help: mask is tight, but leak is high 48 L/min

For what it's worth, my doctor used a default mode of 10 for my original setting, on the theory that the DME would adjust it after reading a few months worth of results. My AHI came in at around 9. After a week, I raised my pressure setting to 12, and my AHI dropped to an average of 1.1. There it h...

Re: Selling fingertip pulse oximeter in good price from CHINA

I contacted Vincent at bestmed88@hotmail.com and purchased the BM-606 pulse oximeter for $153. Payment was easy and the unit shipped immediately. I have been very pleased with the unit. The only slight glitch is that I learned the supplied software does not work with Windows XP SP1, it must be SP2 ...
