Maybe the question I will decide which machine based upon how good the software is? So he/she is looking for a review of the various software products.
Thanks - that is my question!

Which software is best?

Okay, I guess I'm beat down and accepting that I will not get an APAP, just a CPAP. But I want to at least have good software in the deal. I'm confused reading all the different software. The whole compliance data thing makes me cranky. I don't want to have anyone monitoring my sleep info except for...

Re: Full face mask pros and cons?

Hi jshu43 I They are very easy to take off. I have cut off all the quick release pulls on mine, as I found the regular release was quicker. So no problems taking it off for a drink etc. From my reading of the posts one of the cons seems to be attitude. ie - I cannot stand having the mask on my face...

Re: Full face mask pros and cons?

Hi, There are a whole bunch of issues that folks run into. About the best you can do is give it a try, and then solve them one by one. Eliminating the leaks is critical to your treatment, so it is worth the effort. Here are some items that I ran into: - getting a good fit - face not being totally s...

Re: Question about PAP titration report

Two valid questions, which should be answered by the professional who interpreted the study. My amateur guesses: Perhaps you spent a very short time at 9, or else experienced deeper sleep stages at 7 as opposed to 9. Muffy would be able to respond about the architecture, and the possible impact med...

Full face mask pros and cons?

It looks like I may have to get a full face mask as I have mouth leaks and can't wear a head strap and sleep at the same time! This is my first mask, so I don't know what I am getting myself in for. I didn't use a full face mask for my titration, so I'm not sure how I will fare with it. It seems lik...

Re: One more question about CPAP vs APAP

Two things. Philips Respironics just came out with two more System One machines: the Pro (a CPAP with full data) and the Plus (with compliance data only). So be sure to specify that you want the PR System One Auto. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but without the software, which as noted above is u...

Re: One more question about CPAP vs APAP

Was that a UPPP? I don't know about the PR -- but UPPP does seem to make other APAP's less useful. CPAP (fixed pressure) can address you RERA's but supplying enough pressure to keep your breathing stable and to keep you from waking up. O. Yes, I had a UP3, and I have heard that it might cause me pr...

Re: Question about PAP titration report

ozij, I had two sleep studies - one for diagnostic and one for titration. I have the first sleep study, but they faxed it to me and I can't read all of it, it's so blurred. It does look like I had REM sleep on the first test. The report I posted was the titration report. They did have the CPAP titra...

Re: One more question about CPAP vs APAP

Thanks everyone for all the replies! I thought I had been talked into getting a CPAP until I read everyone's input. It makes a lot of sense that I can get an APAP and run it on CPAP mode. I would be stuck with a CPAP no matter what. My sleep doctor is associated with a big hospital in Houston that h...

One more question about CPAP vs APAP

I really had my heart set on getting an APAP - especially since my Apnea seems to be of the RERA variety and the new PR System One REMstar recognizes RERA's. I saw the tech person today associated with my sleep doctor and she reiterated what my doctor had said - I have a low titration level (7) and ...

Question about PAP titration report

I just got a copy of my CPAP titration study and I am confused on a couple of things. Here's a bit of it: Sleep Architecture - Sleep efficiency of 65.6%. Sleep latency was 19.2 minutes. Total of 0 periods of Stage R, 11.1% of stage N1sleep, 33.4% of Stage N2 and significantly increased 55.5% of Stag...

Re: Silly question

Slinky,

You have a lot of good suggestions. I especially liked the drawer idea. But you gave me an idea - I think I will go to some antique shops and look for something with a drawer. I can get it refinished and put either some glass or granite on top to watch out for water damage.

Re: Silly question

Well, I'm glad to know the machine doesn't have to be above my mattress - that will help a lot. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and sometimes it's impossible for me to be able to even get up to eat. So, I do need to have things close by, maybe more than others. I'll have to figure something out. I h...
