Re: sleeping on my back with apap ?
All in all it's not been too bad sleeping on my back (not as scary as the first night a wk ago, I haven't sleep on my back since tentative diagnosis April '07) ...pretty good when I think about my PSG AHI . While I would never have recommended anyone with apnea sleep on their back in the past, with...

sleeping on my back with apap ?
Before using cpap (apap) I used to sleep on my stomach or sideways. Is it okay to sleep on my back with apap on ? I feel sleeping on the back is natural while sleep on stomach has to be learnt. The technician told me to sleep sideways but with the tube I find it best to sleep on my back. I guess the...

Re: humidifier water question
We are digressing from the topic. I understand nobody cares for a dollar here. It's cumbersome - I have to take out the container from the apap machine. It sort of snugly snaps to one tube like vent onto the apap. The other end snaps to the tube which runs to the nasal pillow. I am more worried abou...

Re: humidifier water question
So, does it mean that once I use the water in the humidifier container, it needs to be replaced everyday ? What about the water which I bought in one liter can from Walgreens - that stays for longer than a week after being opened ?

humidifier water question
I have build in humidifier in my apap machine. The technician told me to change the (unused) distill water daily and clean with a weak solution of vinegar weekly. Everyday, water is left in the container and I have to drain it. Is this not a waste of distill water ? In just a day use, there can't be...

Re: is this also some kind of apnea ?
Yes, it is akin to forgetting to breathe at the onset of sleep. Sometimes, it could also happen during daytime if I am engrossed in some thoughts though not very sure. It's a bit hard to remember those things as it happens for a few seconds and one does not give a thought to it later on. So, I will ...

Re: is this also some kind of apnea ?
when you relax and are about to drift off to sleep, do you notice that after you exhale you simply dont inhale again? Is that what you mean? Yes, but only for a few seconds - could be around ten seconds. I do not notice this often though. I have the software to monitor my apap machine and I will po...

Still, I do not feel too great - maybe need to try some masks other than nasal pillow. anyways, has somebody come across this kind of feeling ? - When I am drifting into sleep, I feel I hold my breath and after 10-15 seconds breath with a snort/gasp. I d...

Re: Fisher&Paykel HC254JHU OR Res-Med S-8 Autoset II
Honestly, I don't know which one is better. But, there are many experienced folks here and let's wait for their response. The F&P has a USB compatible compliance “stick” and stays in the machine until a download is needed. Does that mean we don't need to buy the proprietary res-med card reader and s...

What I have told is - The former has a USB compatible compliance “stick” and stays in the machine until a download is needed. The SensAwak...

Does sleep apnea cause tinnitus
There are so many "expert folks here so I thought I'd ask here.
I am yet to start on Apap. I have hypoapnea episodes at night. Could it be the cause of tinnitus ??
Honestly, tinnitus is more of an issue with me right now although I know I don't sleep well
