Re: My Hybrid usage
As you can tell I'm a newbie to the CPAP world. I am trying the best I can to educate myself about apnea as well as the equipment. Getting any education out of my DME and my doctor is like pulling teeth. I guess thats what you get when you live in East Podunk. We have all of 4 doctors in my town, so...

Re: My Hybrid usage
My pressure is 14.0 I'm not sure about the min/max. On my machine when I went to check the system leak is shows 40.7 I just started using the hybrid last night and wasn't sure about the numbers on my data sheet that I got from my DME. It shows Average in large leak per day is 3 secs. Is that the sam...

Re: Hybrid Masks
I will try the ladies tights tonight and see if that works. ......... I will say the only bad thing is that I woke up around 6 this morning and the skin between my nostrils was very sore. I read somewhere on one of the threads here that someone cut that little piece in between the pillows to prevent...

Re: Seeking input on Rx Sleep meds, SSRIs, insomnia treatment
I have learned that Ambien is one of thos medications that effects apnea. It causes more events. That's odd.. My sleep doctor says that Ambien won't make OSA worse and is quite comfortable prescribing it for sleep related issues. I take it off and on and my data (I have the software) is pretty cons...

Re: Hybrid Mask Adjustments: Just One Man’s Opinion
I posted on another thread about the topic of my new hybrid, but in reading this one I see there are some veteran users of they hybrid. Last night was my first night with my new mask and I did ok until about 6 this morning. I woke up and the skin that is between the nostrils was soooo sore. I think...

Re: Hybrid Masks
Gary, I did quite well with the mask last night. I will say the only bad thing is that I woke up around 6 this morning and the skin between my nostrils was very sore. I read somewhere on one of the threads here that someone cut that little piece in between the pillows to prevent that. I wasn't sure...

Re: Hybrid Masks
I never thought I would be excited about getting a new mask, but I finally got my hybrid today. My DME left it up to me to figure out how to use it. It was quite easy to get set up though. All I had to do was watch the DVD that came with it. I tried it out when I took an afternoon nap and I had som...

Re: Seeking input on Rx Sleep meds, SSRIs, insomnia treatment
I am currently on a few psych meds. One of them being Ambien for sleep. I have learned that Ambien is one of thos medications that effects apnea. It causes more events. I'm not so sure about the other meds. I'm thinking about asking my doctor to switch me from that to something else.

Thanks for the link
With the price tag that they have on the custom masks, I guess that I will stick with playing mask roulette. One of these day I'll hit on the lucky one...

Re: What type of pillow do you use?
I use the BreathEasy pillow.http://www.amerimark.com/cgi-bin/amerim ... rtbyprice= It did take me a few nights to get use to because it is a little more firm than my regular pillow. I am a stomach sleeper and so far it is working for me.

Re: Those that wear Hybrids and have Higher pressure?
I'm so glad to see so many positive comments on the hybrid mask. I started out with the Mirage Quattro, but had to switch because the forehead support made it feel like I had been knocked in the head. I went from that to the another full face mask (I forgot which one it is). I had all sorts of leaks...
