Re: Telling youg children why you have a cpap
"UPDATE FROM MY Orinal blog" Well finally I did visit my Grandaughter and she saw my CPAP for the first time. I did show it to her prior to going to bed that night. She told me she saw it on TV on one of her shows and how the kid on the show added bubbles to the machine to play a trick. I, of course...

What great Kids! I wish I had a picture of that!SingleMom wrote:My kids use my old FF masks and hoses and dress up as bio-hazard cleaning people! Their imagination is amazing. They even run the hose down the back of whatever tshirt they're wearing. (* They keep it all very loose, so plenty of fresh air.)

Re: make up sponges to clean your mask
This is for letchworth, Thanks for the complement. So much of the basics of that regime was given to me by my provider, Lincare. My note was originally just to offer my method for following up on their routine. I still think I will follow what I am doing. I wonder if others have gotten the same info...

Funny Midnight Story
One month ago on 9/4/09 @ 3:00am I got a call from my Daughter to tell me She just gave birth to my Grandson. I in my stupor, with my full face mask, was struggling to answer the phone....with the mask still on. "Jus ta minnut!" I replied. My daughter, then is upset and frantic (after giving birth t...

Re: make up sponges to clean your mask
I guess because I am a nurse i do get into over kill; however, a warm moist environment is a great place for bacteria to grow & I guess I just feel safer doing it that way.

make up sponges to clean your mask
I tried to use those white inexpensive makeup sponges that are either triangle or pad like to gently wash my mask and equipment. I think this works well. They are very soft and don't leave any residue. The are not traumatic on my mask cushion. I bought a second mask for back up. & wash my mask and h...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I am a Nurse, so I was commited to trying to gain more energy; need it for work! So I toughed it out for 2 months. I have a full face Miragte Quartro. My energy level was so low for so long, my energy did not come in a burst, instead it sort of crept up on me. I started to notice little things like ...

having to pay for supplies out of pocket
I have a cpap machine and use a Mirage Quartro Full Face Mask. My insurance pays for half the rental of the machine every month. I pay the other half. Anthem BC BS does not cover my supplies. I was told I had to get them directly from my supplier, very expensive. I would like to buy my supplies on l...

Re: Telling youg children why you have a cpap
Thanks so much for the wonderful stories! I am sort of looking forward to showing my Grandaughter. She is a real pistol and has a great sense of humor. i will share when that happens the next few weeks. I have a grandson on the way, Sept 4th. He will never know the difference. It is good for a laugh...

Telling youg children why you have a cpap
I have to go and see my 7 year old Grandaughter in a few weeks and she often comes in my room to wake me up in the morning. I am planning on showing the machine to her the night before and giving simple explanation on how it works and why I need to wear it. I don't think I will have a lot of trouble...

Re: How old were you when you got diagnosed?
I was diagnosed age 65 but I am sure I could have been diagnosed early on. My Dad had the same snoring problem I do. He could just fall asleep anywhere and never had the opportunity to have a sleep test. He lived till 85. I resisted this a long time. You are lucky you were diagnosed so early because...

online sights to buy mask & Parts/ What is the best deal?
My insurance pays for 1/2 the monthly machine rental but I have to pay out of pocket for my mask & replacement parts. Does anyone have a good reasonable price online site to order mask & parts for the Mirage full face Quartro?

Re: New Cpap user's woes
I started on a different mask and had to change my mask to a Mirage Quartro full face mask. I am a new user as well ,and did not do well with my first mask ( a Liberty)called my supplier and gave up the whole thing for a few days till she could come out. Got what sleep I could without a mask. Starte...

mirage Quartro full face mask
I have had this mask for 3 weeks. I will start up my machine slowly building pressure and then I will get little puffs of leaks right along the chin area where the mask rests. I have tried to then adjust the straps but end up with welts on my face and discomfort. The only way I find it does not leak...
