Thank you, both, for your input & responses- very helpful. If there are any others with thoughts, I appreciate those as well.

Need Machine Info- ResMed vs ResVent
My Resmed s-10 machine gave me a message "The motor Has Exceeded Life Expectancy" (or something similar to that). Called local Supplier & they said that the backlog at ResMed is so bad that they can't guarantee which brand they can supply, either ResMed S-11 or ResVent I-Breeze. I have not heard of ...

Help Needed to pass a CPAP machine along
A friend would like to donate a machine to an organization that helps people unable to afford a machine.
I know I have read of such an organization, but didn't remember the name, etc.
Your help would be very much appreciated.

Re: Difficulty ordering new mask/headgear
Thank you to both of you--- the list will be helpful if I go in that direction. And it does make sense to pass on the one DME-- but I did wonder if others had been prior users of Comfort Gel or Comfort Gel Blue, and have "discovered" a mask they like even better. I always say, "I am a C-PAP user in ...

Difficulty ordering new mask/headgear
Recently moved to Akron, Ohio area and trying to set up with local DME. My insurance will cover what I need, but DME says they are not permitted by "corporate" to order the Respironics Comfort Gel Blue, "Because the price is too high". They deal with all brands- so it is not a problem with sourcing ...

Re: Help Needed: Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle 600
My apologies for misunderstanding the timeline--- and thank you for the correctionIf you got it from a friend who got it 2 years ago...what has the DME have to do with it?
I believe the Sleepstyle 600 was current 1-2 years ago.

Re: Help Needed: Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle 600
Thanks Pugsy; Where I recently moved from, the DME respiratory therapist would gladly have helped-- but currently looking for friendly, honest DME in Akron/Canton area of Ohio. I know she purchased it in last two years--- [3 at tops]-- so assume it is shady DME. I will keep looking for friendly/hone...

Re: Help Needed: Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle 600
Thank you so much for the manual--- definitely a keeper. In reading the section on setting pressure I read the following: 1.3 EQUIPMENT REQUIRED - The patient’s tube and mask. - A pressure measuring device with a minimum range of 0 to 20cmH - A length of pressure tubing. - “T” adaptor if the mask do...

Help Needed: Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle 600
Friend of mine gave me a Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle 600 that she only used for a very brief time- [I tried to talk her into staying with it, without success.] Machine has less than 30 days on it, purchased perhaps 2 years ago. Came with two humidifier chambers, heated hose, and a mask. I researched ...

Looking for DME- Ohio, Massillon/Canton area
Recently moved to Ohio upon retirement & to be nearer to the grandchildren. We now live in the Canton/Massillon area-- and are looking for recommendations for a reputable DME. I have found this forum to be so helpful over the years, and have missed checking in because of the moving process which was...

Re: Service Dogs For Sleep Apnea?
Visions of large big cheeked bloodhound standing over you at night blowing in your mouth to act as a splint whenever you stop breathing. Just give him a mint before bed and Shazam! the ultimate APAP, BiPaP, humidifier and mask all-in-one! Here I was, reading a serious thread----- then, poof!! I alm...

Re: ResMed Mirage FX- headgear comes undone
Perhaps mine is a frustration of "the way things should be"---- or as you have indicated "the way things used to be". The bottom connection slips on and off as it should and I guess that is the most important-- but putting it on in the dark is a little clumsy [though I usually put it on in the bathr...
