We have "health care" in Canada, and it doesn't cover CPAP machines or diagnostic sleep studies. If your lucky, you may get insurance coverage with Blue Cross, Sun Life, etc., that covers part of your costs. My insurance paid 80% for my CPAP gear up to a limit they described as "normal cost". My guess is the same, it's all about profit margins. I don't know about in the States, but the cost for both the Ultra Mirage FFM and Quattro are exactly the same. Not all chemicals will stay behind in your humidifier chamber. For example, chlorine will evaporate into the air, even without being heated. So you could let your tap water sit for a few hours to let the chlorine dissipate into the air prior to using it in your humidifier if you were worried about b...
