Re: DME was PISSED.
What kind of specialized training are you looking for? The RT is the correct medical professional to be doing OSA/xPAP training. Yes you can train someone in how to put on a mask and clean their humidifier but how are you on phobias, relationships, eyes, facial swelling, grieving, anger management,...

Re: DME was PISSED.
What kind of specialized training are you looking for? When I was in school to be an RT, we had a semester of just Sleep disorders and sleep disordered breathing equipment. On top of that, we do have to get 24 Continuing Education Credits every two years to maintain our license (Which is 4 more hour...

Re: Remstar/Respironics replacement filters cost $58?
Have you called the DME to ask WHY in the world they charge so much? The price is insane.
Maybe there is a chance it was a simple billing error. We are all in fact human, and we do all make mistakes.

Re: Don't blame RT/DME
[quote="BlackSpinner"] Or do you suppose these phoney RT's are funded by DME & manufacturers lobbies? quote] Funded, doubtful. Brainswashed. possible. You go through 2-4 years of school, clinicals and hospital work all being taught that the patient is uneducated. Perhaps there was a time when that w...

Re: New Product Idea
Respironics has Encore Anywhere a wired modem that does essentially this, supposedly a wireless version is in the makes, and Resmed has a wireless modem called Restraxx that also transmits data wirelessly to a PC. I do however feel that both should be made to have a patient view website of those who...

Re: Don't blame RT/DME
We set all the machine's to show AHI and Leak #'s with education on what those numbers mean and what range they should be within. When you say all machines does that mean you initially give all your patients a data compatibile machine or do they have to request one? The main problem with the majori...

Re: Don't blame RT/DME
As far as giving patients the clinicians manual, there may not be a law about that, but it would be improper because I'd be giving the patient the ability to do something that I'm prohibited by law to do. If you have complaints, take it up with the physicians or FDA, they can change it, I can't. A ...

Re: Bad taste from mask
I find it hard to believe it is the mask...I've had 2 of this mask over tha past year with no indication of a smell. Have you checked/replaced the filter on your CPAP? Update: I super-double-triple cleaned the mask yesterday and left it out to air dry. I gave it a whiff while I was reassembling it ...

E51 is an "internal memory error"
The machine will still run, but like someone else had said, best to get it replaced ASAP.

http://www.resmed.com/us/products/apnealink_plus/apnealink-plus.html?nc=clinicians Great device. I've actually done a few studies on patient's that did not need them to qualify for a PAP machine, from a healthcare provider standpoint, it's useless, as there is no reimbursment from any insurance comp...

Re: I need Everflo Oxygen concentrator help
MattMan, are you SURE it is a 13 month rent to own for a CONCENTRATOR?? i've been under the impression that it was 3 years for a CONCENTRATOR as well. No not at all sure I thought the changes took it out to a 3-5 year rental but I think payments still stop at 13 months. Could be wrong though! I kno...
