Re: How long did it take you to start sleeping all night on cpap
Well, I have been on CPAP for almost a year and I rarely sleep through the night. However, I didn't sleep through the night before CPAP either. On a positive note, I go to sleep much faster now, when I wake up at night I go to sleep much faster now, and a few nights I have slept 10+ hours...almost u...

Lower than titrated pressure = lower AHI for me
First of all my untreated AHI is about 15 and desats down to 85%. My titrated pressure is 7.0 and it took me a good 3 months to adjust fully to the machine (July - Sep). Once I was sleeping rather consistently I began to monitor my data (EncoreViewer) because I didn't feel like I was getting the the...

Re: Antidepressant drugs help few people
I can only speak from my own experience. I dealt with depression long before I had apnea. My problems began in my early to mid teens but I lingered almost 25 years before seeking treatment. I was functional but lived with indescribable, unexplained sadness at times (I can only equate the sadness to ...

What should I do?
Followup with sleep doctor. I still wake up at night and I notice my machine reports average AHI of 3.5 (but my sleep efficiency is probably no better than 75% so the true AHI is probably higher). I also have read the SmartCard and have seen that sometimes I wake right after an apnea event. I know t...

Re: Is there a benefit in using FLEX?
I turned the C-flex option off on mine yesterday and it is a lot quieter. At a pressure of 7 I have no problem exhaling anyway.

Re: THE CPAP SOUND BAFFLE SYSTEM™
I am about to modify my nightstand so I can put the unit underneath behind a door and may surround by foam as well. Also, those darn blue LEDs!!! As an engineer I can't believe they create this wonderful medical device and overlook the brightness of the LEDs. I currently have mine covered with white...

Re: 2nd night on cpap! Help
I've been on my machine for 5 weeks. It took me 3 weeks to be comfortable with it, there are just so many little nuances you have to get comfortable with. Perhaps a sleepaid would help. The first night you sleep all night with it you will get a lot of confidence. 2 nights is not very long but I know...

Re: Several Arousals During Night
I don't have pain issues like you, so if the analysis of the data does not show a pattern I'm going to press my sleep doc to continue investigating other reasons for my poor sleep. I've always been a "light" sleeper (whatever that means). I have ordered the Encore software and card reader in order t...

Re: Several Arousals During Night
Thanks Pugsy. Another interesting tidbit is that if I take at least .5mg clonazepam sometimes I can go 3 or 4 hours without waking. Since clonazepam can reduce REM sleep this might make sense. I try to take the clonazepam only occaasianally and I typically use only .25 or .125mg of it just to help w...

Re: Several Arousals During Night
Oh yeah, I don't have the viewer software, just reading the data screens from the machine right now. I may invest in the card reader and software after my follow-up visit.

Several Arousals During Night
I have several arousals during the night (every 1.5 to 2 hours) and each time I remember dreaming vivdly. This happens unless I take a sleep aid like AmbienCR (unless I still have them and don't remember). My AHI during the initial sleep study was 20, desat 85%. Machine shows AHI at 3.2. Is it possi...
