Re: Change mask setting on a ResmedS8 AutoSet II
Thanks Cycloman2005, I did manage to track down the compatibility list. I guess I didn't word my question to well. I've found the menu item that displays the mask type set, but I can't change the setting. I assume this is one of the settings "locked down" by the clinician. How do I change these sett...

Change mask setting on a ResmedS8 AutoSet II
My S8 AutoSet II shows the mask type as "Ultra" but I've got a Mirage Quatro.
How do I change the mask type?
Thanks.
Peter.

Re: Problems in Canada with Socialized Medicine?
........I had a heart attack and ended up in cardiac arrest in the spring. I was lucky enough to be in my doctors office with a doctor, nurse and two paramedics in attendance at the time. ......... OK Peter, you must tell us how that works! I am 100% in favor of a medical plan that arranges for a d...

Re: Problems in Canada with Socialized Medicine?
No doubt, the Canadian system is biased towards treatment of critically ill patients. Realistically, that's the way most people would want it. It might not be pleasant, but you can wait longer for a hip replacement than you can for bypass surgery. In our system, you might not get treated as quickly ...

Re: Problems in Canada with Socialized Medicine?
I can only speak from my experiences, but as far as critical care the Canadian system is hard to beat. I had a heart attack and ended up in cardiac arrest in the spring. I was lucky enough to be in my doctors office with a doctor, nurse and two paramedics in attendance at the time. After I was reviv...

Re: A question about my numbers.
Hi Pugsy, I’m sorry for the confusion, I’m still trying to get my feet under me with all this. The leak reading is from the LCD screen on the unit. I know my mask is way too tight, but if I loosen it, I get air blowing into my eyes (unpleasant to say the least). The DME fitted the mask by having me ...

Re: A question about my numbers.
I'll check the mask setting tonight. I've had a problem with leaks. The first couple of nights were really bad. The DME fitted my mask, but I found it WAY too loose. I really cranked it down and that stopped most of the leaks, but the mask is very tight. I tried to back off the tightness last night ...

A question about my numbers.
Hi, I just purchased my equipment last week after a 30 day trial. One change that was made after the trial was a switch to a full face mask. I've noticed a real improvement since the switch, but I've got a question regarding my numbers. last night my AHI was 6.3. My AI was .3, the HI was 6.0. The le...

Suggestions on full face mask.
I've been using a Mirage Activia LT nasal mask for the past couple of months with mixed results. I'm waking up with a dry mouth and throat even though I'm using a humidifier. My wife complains that I'm doing the "Motorboat" overnight, so I suspect I'm mouth breathing. Would one of you kind folks be ...

Who should I purchase my equipment from?
I live just outside Ottawa Ontario and I've just finished a 30 day CPAP trial with MediGas. Now it's time to purchase my equipment. I'm really not thrilled with the service I've received from MediGas. I need dome documentation from them for my insurance company, and I can't get them to even return m...

Re: I'm on my own in Ontario; as usual!
I live just outside Ottawa. I've just completed my 30 day trial, and I'll be purchasing my equipment shortly. I have insurance through my employer that lists DME as "covered", but I'm waiting for a reply as to what exactly this means. MediGas is my DME supplier. Is there anything I should know befor...

Newby software question.
I'm new to all this. My trial period is coming to a close and I'm going to purchase the equipment as soon as I get a few insurance wrinkles ironed out. From checking out the board, I've noticed that many of you have purchased a card reader and software to analyze the data generated by your unit. Fro...
