Re: anyone have experience with the Z2 auto?
I use my Z2 exclusively as a travel machine. Compared with my AirSense 10 Autoset and its two previous iterations, the Z2 is much nosier, but it's noise level is very consistent, unvarying during the breathing cycle and, as a result, more tolerable to me than some full-sized units I've tried which s...

Re: ResMed versus Respironics
I've been a confirmed Resmed fan through 4 machines. I run up to 16 cm pressure w/o any in/ex relief and am very comfortable. I am never disturbed by the machines' response to events.. I tried a Respironics a generation ago and I couldn't tolerate the changing fan sound between inhale and exhale cyc...

Re: CPAP Warrantee Service
I would suggest that maybe you contact resmed directly. I wonder if the DME is lying to you ? Good question, and that's the reason I started this thread. Wanted to know what kind of warrantee experience others were having with Resmed. My vibe is that the DME is being honest, not that I have any inh...

Re: CPAP Warrantee Service
I just got an email, 28 days after returning my Airsense Autoset 10 for warrantee repair. The DME quoted Resmed as, " After a performance test, the complaint of Smart Start was not confirmed. The unit was fully calibrated, tested and will be returned. Due to the result of the evaluation, we are unab...

CPAP Warrantee Service
I recall recently reviewing a thread comparing the reliability of Resmed and Respironics machines on this forum. There seemed to be a consensus that the Resmed units exhibited higher build quality and fewer failures compared with Respironics. My last three machines were Resmeds and I never had any i...

Re: copy from airsense sd to dreamstation sd
I've been holding on to some related information which may be of interest to those Sleepyhead users upgrading from a Resmed S9 to a Resmed Airsense 10. I've just made such a move and I worried about what changes were necessary to preserve my old data and whether I could continue to capture data from...

Re: Dream Wear Mask - My opinion
Can you tell where the sound is coming from? The loudest noise is, as I stated earlier in the thread, apparently generated in the straps/tubes by air turbulence. Squeezing off both tubes seems to be the only thing that affects that noise. When the mask exhibits breathing noise, it's hard to tell th...

Re: Dream Wear Mask - My opinion
Despite my noise complaints, I've been sticking to using this exclusively, and I must say that I'm thoroughly confused. At times, the noise seems to disappear, for hours. Sometimes I hear myself breathing, otherwise, there's total silence. Sometimes the software shows moderate leakage, other times z...

Re: Short hose for Dreamwear mask
I think it depends on one's sleep habits. As someone who sleeps on his side and turns quite a bit at night, I find anything other than the hose routed from overhead to be disturbing. In that case, a thick and/or stiff hose tends to restrict movement and weigh on the mask connector. With the short, f...

Re: Short hose for Dreamwear mask
You do need a connector. Here's my solution: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgjjzktke7bsyr5/DreamWear1.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/o0tsj6p8ed5yya5/DreamWear2.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/t09srqil5jsl6z6/DreamWear3.jpg?dl=0 The hose is from a Nuance, which is very flexible and stretchy and ju...

Re: Short hose for Dreamwear mask
I posted a solution for this yesterday in the topic Dream Wear Mask - My opinion. Most of the small hoses won't connect to the Dream Wear connection without an adapter.

Re: Nuance Pro mask
I wouldn't put much hope in silicone sealant and I will note that most retail formulations exude some pretty smelly and maybe toxic fumes for several days. I have a Nuance Pro which I use as a travel mask, after failing to make the cut for daily usage - it's pretty break-proof compared to my TAP PAP...

Re: Dream Wear Mask - My opinion
I'm not one of those lucky souls that can ignore noise, unfortunately. Neither can I. First night impressions: This is the loudest mask I recall ever using, and the noise is not leak or vent related. It appears to result from turbulence within the two strap/tubes or at the hose connection. No adjus...

Re: Help - Respironics System One - Noise?
Your expectations are unfounded. I agree that some purchases are going to result in a defective product. I'm no stranger to that. What upsets me it that the vendor failed to acknowledge an obvious and, according to this forum a known defect, not to mention the machine was brand new. I called an hou...

Re: Dream Wear Mask - My opinion
I was more bothered by noise issues, as was my wife. She also noticed that it was louder than she's used to with the Swift FX. I needed a good night's sleep last night, so I went back to the Swift FX, so I may try the DreamWear again tonight to see if I can get it quiet enough so that I can get to ...
