Re: Favorite travel bags for CPAP and laptop?
This is funny, I just an email from my husband saying how miserably tired he is for not having his CPAP with him on a business trip. I'm wondering, how to you handle taking your CPAP with you (aside from choosing a good bag for it). Is it ever a security problem? Do you need certain paperwork? Thank...

Last night was the first night!
Hubby and I received our machines earlier this week, then I had to find distilled water for the humidifiers (we have the same machines). I got the hoses and masks all cleaned up, etc. I lasted until about 4.30, got over six hours sleep with the CPAP overall, then I really felt the need to sleep on m...

Re: Is the process always the same?
After adding up all our out-of-network medical expenses for the year, I decided to order our machines from cpap.com instead of going through the DME. There were a number of factors in the decision, but in the end it was a gut feeling that I wasn't going to be happy with the DME process and waits, et...

Re: Is the process always the same?
Paying for it ourselves is tempting, but we already over 15k/year for my son's therapies that aren't covered by insurance. Adding another $1100-$1200 to that would really hurt, when the machines should be fully covered....

Is the process always the same?
I just went through a miserable experience, driving all around south Jersey in the rain trying to find a DME to get machines for my husband and I. We both had our studies, and then went back to the doc this week and I got our scripts -- which is written just like the examples given here -- specifies...

Re: Keep Mask Used At Titration Study?
My husband and I went to the same place and we each got to keep our masks. That's actually how I found this board, trying to figure out why the masks were different. His was just some disposable kind of full face mask, but my wasn't.

Re: Newbie -- potentially overwhelmed with information!
At first the task of learning new jargon and technology is overwhelming, but I'm used to it -- my son has a variety of medical conditions, so I'm actually kind of experienced in the process, just not for myself! After getting the reports and taking some time to look at machines, I feel like we're in...

Re: Newbie -- potentially overwhelmed with information!
I had my second study, just haven't gotten the results from that yet. Got the results from my first (PSG) study, and hubby's PSG and CPAP studies. I told my husband "HIPAA what?" -- I just called our doctors office, and asked that they fax the studies over to his office. Surprisingly to me, mine is ...

Mac-compatible software
As I'm building my to-do list, this is a big one... It's not a dealbreaker, but my main computer is a Mac. We've have PCs but using the Macs are more convenient.
So, does anyone use or know if what, if any, software is Mac-compatible?

Newbie -- potentially overwhelmed with information!
This is a great site... My eyes have been opened. I had my second study last night for my "fitting". My husband had his about three weeks ago. I thought it was interesting that he got a nasal mask, and I got a nasal pillow , and when I went Googling to find out why, I ended up here. Looks like I nee...
