Re: Zero apneas?

I'm just very cynical when this happens... By the way, it happened last night I almost feel that I didn't enter my Sleep Stages at all. Or, I wasn't relaxed. When the Encore Report is out of the ordinary, I just ask myself, how do you feel?? Clear head, muscles feel refreshed. I have duration on ta...

Zero apneas?

is it possible to get to zero apnea events? I ask because I've increased my pressure to 13, and with this new mask, I had 1 apnea the entire night last night (8:54 sleep). My hypopneas were still high, for an AHI of 5.2 (AI 0.1, HI 5.1). Leak average and median of 0.0. My previous best was 3, also w...

Re: How did the new FullLife stack up against the Quattro: PC11

Quick followup: Tried the FullLife last night. It felt comfortable (though delicate) when I put it on and finally figured out the straps. But it leaked all night long, and I woke up with the chin strap not even on my chin anymore. I also hated the inability to hit two catches and have the thing off...

Re: Fitbit

The fitbit seems to be a glorified pedometer, which uses an accelerometer and math to make a lot of assumptions about what you're doing. There's a similar, but more accurate device that uses an accelerometer, galvanic skin response, body temperature, etc. to get more accurate data: GoWear Fit (a.k.a...

Wrist Oximeter without finger piece?

Is there any such thing as a wrist pulse oximeter without the fingertip piece? I'd love to find one that I could use not only while sleeping, but while weightlifting. I've searched both here and online in general, but everything seems to require the fingertip bit to work. I read about (but didn't fi...

Re: How did the new FullLife stack up against the Quattro: PC11

I wish I'd known this was coming down the pike, since I received my FullLife one day before the results were posted. Oh well. I'll still try it and see. I tried a ComfortGel last night, and it felt very uncomfortable and leaky. But the data showed a 95%ile leak rate approaching 0, and I had 3 apneas...

CMS-50E and ResScan

I can't seem to find this info with a search: Will ResScan read and display data from the CMS-50E in its "pulse oximetry" data tab?

I'm toying with the idea of buying one, but it'd be nice if ResScan could interface with it.

Re: initial DME visit: documentation of policies?

Most of those look like something you would confirm with your insurance provider (in addition to the DME). Den Nope. DME bills me. DME supplies gear to me. DME is the one I'm doing business with. I'm the DME's customer. They need to tell me these things. And, as if my asserting it wasn't enough, th...

initial DME visit: documentation of policies?

So, when you first visited your DME, were you given documentation explaining: * the terms and conditions of your relationship with the DME, including your and the DME's rights and responsibilities, * a timetable for consumables replacement, * an explanation of servicing procedure, * information rega...

I'm currently battling headaches that seem to set in around noon and just won't go away until I go to sleep.

Very annoying.

Re: Part I Health Cost Problems (overview)

But consider the consequences... if pricing were the issue, who would decide (besides the MD and/or HMO) what you pay for things:- Suppose you saw a list of tests (and prices) that they want you to take, would you pick and choose based on price, not knowing that omitting one or another could be the...

The card goes in the machine with the logo and arrow facing up, the gold contacts facing down. The card goes in the reader with logo and arrow facing down, the gold contacts facing up. Quattro destroying my nose

I've been using the Quattro for about 5 days, and it's destroying my nose. After the first night, my nose was red, sore, and full of pus. After last night, it's weeping pus and there's a big open sore that's scabbing over. The mask is NOT overtight, and I don't seem to be allergic to the liner, sinc...

Re: BMI

But I give people some slack, sometimes a lot of slack, in that they may be dealing with undiagnosed medical issues, such as OSA. But if you look at the people scapes of the 30's to the 50's there must have been just as many people with OSA not caused by obesity and they are not over weight. Anothe...
