Re: Travel advice please
If you need to use non distilled water dont worry about it. Just soak your tank in a vinigar/water mixture & wipe it out after a few hours. Gets the miniral buildup out of there.

Re: hoping to lose weight
I've started losing some weight recently, I quit smoking after starting cpap & gained a bit but its all evening out now. I too wish I started cpap years ago. Someone told me they thought I had sleep apnea 20 years ago & I thought they were crazy. I've been on cpap therapy for almost 2 years & the wo...

Re: Update: Distillied water on a Plane
Ask your flight attendant for an extra bottle of water on the plane. If they balk just explain the situation... "Stores are closed, it's late, give me the frikkin' water or I'll snore like a dying water buffalo & keep everyone else awake, yadda-yadda..." They'll help you out, it's they're job.

Re: What tape for taping ones mouth shut?
THanks all, I've been using 1" jahnson&johnson paper tape (because I had some in the back of the closet) with good results. DMT-RE, I haven't tried any other mask than a nasal pillow, I will in the future for a few reasons but I'm well past any exchange dates. This mouth breathing thing seemed to st...

What tape for taping ones mouth shut?
I taped my mouth last night as I dislike the chinstrap & it worked great, I used plain old masking tape & I've heard there's better tape for this, anyone know what's the best?

Re: Machine not working...
I found this about your machine but couldn't find any E4 error message info, good luck... "The device complies with the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of IEC 60601-1-2. In certain circumstances, the device may affect or be affected by nearby equipment due to the effects of electromagneti...

Re: Exhaust air flow bugging me
The AEIOMed headrest mask might be the ticket! I looked & it seems a good choice, I didn't realize that you can try a mask for 30 days & return it if it isn't what you want, that's awesome. I just ordered a replacement tank for my H4i humidifier yesterday from this site, I wish I'd ordered a trial m...

Exhaust air flow bugging me
I love my CPAP & I sleep so well but... The air that shoots out the front of my nasal mask drives me batty, I wrap my hands in sheets so they're not right in the stream, it's wicked loud & falling asleep takes longer. I'm a side sleeper so it blows right down on my hands & sheets & stuff. Is there a...

Re: Telling youg children why you have a cpap
I told my youngest nephew that it was my "nose snorkel" hooked up to my "dreaming machine" I did tell him that it just blew air down my throat so I could sleep better & that I wouldn't snore anymore. He's 8 & took it in stride. Wasn't at all bothered. My older niece & nephew were psyched that I didn...

Re: Why too much urination with sleep apnea ??????
Before I was diagnosed, I would get up every 1-1/2 hours to visit the bathroom. Now since I have been on CPAP (just a bit over a year), I will get up 1 or maybe not at all. Me too, before realizing I had apnea I used to think that my getting up every 1/2 hour or so was the result of having to pee a...

Re: Distilled water or not?
why the secrecy?
No secrecy, I love that I'm sleeping & tell folks, I just don't know anyone else with apnea, exept the weird landlord.
