Re: Help for a friend, which machine?

Now that I am thinking of it, does he need a bi-pap or a auto pap? Now I am confused!

Help for a friend, which machine?

Hi all, Its been awhile since I was on this great site, and have forgotten some things I learned already! A friend I know has severe apnea, his wife says he gasps for air many times in the night, and refuses to go to a sleep study. I thought a bi-pap machine would work and he could titrate himself, ...

Re: Soap Cleaners - masks

I use Ivory dishwashing liquid, this is what the DME told me to use when I first started, and it works great. I rinse it very well in warm water, and there is no smell. I just need drop for my nasal pillow. I wash it everyday.

Re: New Mask Suggestions for Stomach Sleeper

I am a stomach sleeper, and I use the Swift LT. I also use the padacheeks, so no marks on my face. I did have marks, though, before I got padacheeks. I really like this mask. And I have zero leaks using it, which is also great. I have not tried the others that you mentioned, so cannot comment on tho...

Re: Cleaning Humidifier

I have always cleaned mine every week. I used to empty the distilled water and then refill it every day, but now only add more water each day, and then just clean it once a week.

Re: Advice w/ Swift LT face marks?

I also use the swift LT and love it! But the marks on my face would last for more than 6 hours, and I also did not over tighten the straps. I ordered Pad-a-cheeks and now have no problem. I highly recommend them. I am a side sleeper too. I also tend to swell in my face when I sleep, making the probl...

Re: Which full face mask do you recommend?

I used to have marks on my face for maybe 6 hours from my headgear, the Swift LT. Just last week I got a pad-a-cheeks, and I just love it! No more marks at all, and it is so cozy and soft. Wish I had bought it a few months ago. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.

Re: How old were you when you got diagnosed?

I was 45 when I was diagnosed, but I'm sure that I actually have had OSA for the past 20 years. Be glad that you have not had to waste 20 years of dealing with this before being diagnosed. If people were actually diagnosed when when OSA started, the curve would be much younger. Great survey!

Re: Mirage Swift II and LT

The Swift II was my first mask. I sleep on both my sides, and both sides of my face on my stomach. The Swift II only allows for sleeping on one side or the other. I used it for only two weeks, and I could not stand it anymore. The LT is so great, the hose swivels on either side, so there is never a ...

Re: Swift LT - what size do I need?

I use the attachment and put the hose over my head. I toss and turn alot and it keeps the hose out of my face. I sleep on both my sides and my stomach and this mask works great all ways. As for the nasal pillows, the small is better for one nostril, the medium better for the other! I guess my nose i...
