Re: OT: Skechers Shape-ups
Unstable work out surfaces can be very helpful for developing core muscles. So weight lifting and balance exercises with anything that is unstable on your feet CAN be helpful. However, there is a growing body of evidence that any shoe on your foot during running can cause shin splints, tendonitus, e...

Re: Effects on blood pressure?
In general, when you have apneas your body reacts poorly, and the heart rate rises, rising the blood pressure. One side effect of this is having to urinate during the night--the higher blood pressure pushes more water thru the kidneys. So, by corollary, using your cpap should lower your blood pressu...

Re: very bad nasal stuffiness
It could be a number of things. Some noses plug up (the insides swell) when you lie down. Some swell up due to the CPAP pressure. Some react to allergens in the room being pumped in faster with the cpap pressure. The key, like they said,is to try all sorts of stuff and see what works FOR YOU.

Re: Blisters on top of nose
Yeah, had that for the first month of cpap, then it went away. I had to clean out the blister a couple times a day with a qtip and hydrogen peroxide, and then smear bacitracin on it. Eventually my body got used to the mask and it stopped and has not come back.

Re: Sinus Congestion and Deviated Septum
I had a deviated septum and got it fixed...greatly improved cpap compliance.
You can tell if it is the septum, or somehthing else, by using a breathe-rite strip some night, and seeing if things are much better.

Re: Humidifier Question
I throw it out every morning. Cheap insurance in my view. I have enough trouble keeping my nose open, and don't want a chance of adding any additional mold from left over warm water.

Re: Snuffy Nose
I have been trying a product called Clear-Ease. It is made of two types of fruit enzymes that supposedly relieve swelling inside of the nose. So far so good, I will let you know if it really works well.

Re: Snuffy Nose
it is actually normal for you to breath out of one side of the nose or the other. You body actually swaps sides often during the day, you normally just do not notice it. In my case, I sleep on my side, and the nostril that is lowest is the one that clogs up. If I turn over, eventually that one clear...

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes
"Since I can easliy get 3-4 days" are you sure about that? I assumed you would get barely one day out of a battery charge, and have to recharge it again the next day.

Re: Hiking at High Altidudes
I initally laughed when I saw your post, but after a little research it is not that far fetched. The C222 is a 222 watt-hour battery. Assuming you can stop for 4 hours during the day when the sun is high and charge the battery, you could get by with a 55 watt solar panel, which is typcially in the 3...
