Re: Those that wear Hybrids and have Higher pressure?
I just received my Hybrid about a week ago. I do like it. Definitely like it better than the full face mask. The only thing I am having problems with is the head gear. I believe this is the "new/improved" head gear, but it is too large (and I am not a dainty person). I have to cinch the straps up so...

Re: Those that wear Hybrids and have Higher pressure?
I have a pressure of "only" 12, but what I did for my Hybrid nasal pillows was to get a clear (non hair pulling) pony tail holder. You can get a small box at Walmart that will last forever. I gently stretched the holder and applied it to both the left and right pillows. To me it holds the pillows to...

Help me understand sleep study results
I had my first sleep study a couple of months ago and a follow up study a month ago. I have been on cpap pressure of 12. Today I followed up with my Pulmonary Nurse Prac and I got the printout of my sleep study notes. I do not have the "technical" results of my sleep study just a physician synopsis....

Re: Nasal Aire II questions
Thanks for all the great replies. I tried it last night and I believe I am going to like it. I am going to have to get a chin strap because I woke up with a dry mouth. I am not pleased with the head gear. It is tedious to put on. When I removed it and tried to put it back on it was a mess. I had to ...

Nasal Aire II questions
Hello, I have now in my arsenal a Nasal Aire II. I have tested the sizes and I find that I need to use a small nasal prong. When I tried the XS my right nare leaked slightly, but my left was air tight so I moved up a size. My question to other nasal aire II users is will the prongs ever feel comfort...

Re: Any mouth breathers successfully use nasal mask?
Thanks for the response. I guess I was wanting to know if anybody successfully was able to "train" their self to not mouth breathe as 2flamingos posted that she/he did. I am not opposed to the Hybid, but I love the idea of the nasal prong. To not have something covering your mouth... I do miss those...

Any mouth breathers successfully use nasal mask?
I do a mix of nasal breathing and mouth breathing. I notice I tend to mouth breathe when I am getting really relaxed. I have a full face mask, but I am having to tighten my straps really tight in order for the mask not to leak when I mouth breathe. My question is...has anybody successfully used a na...

I was taught by my DME to wash the hose every week. Although I will confess I wash it about once a month because I did not see a need to do it that often....

Re: Gout relief?
I don't know if there is a connection with apnea and gout, but gout can occur in the ankles and elbows, although the most common in the great toe. Gout was once called the illness of Kings, because eating of rich foods and drinking of rich wines in excess, and a sedentary lifestyle can lead to gout....

Headache after nap. Why now?
I get a severe headache when I take a nap. Before cpap I never did get a HA when I napped. I never felt refreshed, but I did not hurt when I woke up. I have been on my cpap for about 2 months now, and now when I do nap and wake up my head is busting. Why now? When I nap, I sleep in a recliner with m...
