Re: COMFORT CURVE MASK
I just came across this post by Neverbetter about the Optilife cushions. I don't like nasal pillows, so I tried the cushions about six or eight months ago, and I've used them every night since. I find them very comfortable, with fewer leaks than pillows for me. It took a couple of days to get the he...

Re: Resmed Escape II for sale
You might try Craigslist, but $400 sounds like a lot for an Escape. It is the bottom of the line and gives no useful information--only hours. Good luck.

Re: Contour CPAP Pillow?????
I have the contour pillow, but it doesn't work for me. I finally bought a buckwheat pillow, and after an adjustment period, I never use anything else. You adjust the amount of wheat hulls to suit yourself. Then you can push them around to suit yourself and accommodate your mask.

Re: TAP 3 Oral Appliance
Gasp, my goal isn't to get off cpap necessarily. My hope with a MAD would be two things, to keep my mouth closed, and to lower my pressure some, so I could use a more comfortable mask successfully.
I'm appreciating the feedback. It helps me think through my decision. Thanks.

Re: TAP 3 Oral Appliance
I have ordered a cervical collar from Amazon.com. It's definitely worth a try.

Re: TAP 3 Oral Appliance
Thanks for sharing your experience. I will consider the cervical collar before I decide on an oral appliance. Irene

TAP 3 Oral Appliance
I'm considering the TAP 3 or similar oral appliance. My goals are to lower my pressure and keep my mouth shut so perhaps I can get good therapy with just nasal pillows or other nasal mask. It's mostly a comfort thing for me, with a little vanity thrown in! I have tried numerous full face masks inclu...

Re: New Quattro FX -- FFM issues
I just got the Quattro FX this past week, and I've worn it four nights. It is the first full face mask (except hybrid) that doesn't destroy the top of my nose. My nose sticks out quite a ways where the mask sits, and it holds the mask pretty securely. The DME did say people with smaller noses have t...

The Resmed Escape will not give you any information other than hours used. You need the Resmed Elite or Auto versions to get useful information.

Re: Questions for ComfortGel FFM users
I have the nasal comfort gel mask. The cushion and flap don't last me more than a couple of months. I find replacements most often on Ebay. But my DME would have them for me if I went that route. Or I can buy from CPAP.com and insurance will pay 80% of the cost. I use Ivory liquid to wash my cushion...

I would suggest you name the mask in the subject line. It will catch the eye of people who are familiar with it. Good luck.

Re: Purchase vs rental
I assume no insurance or you wouldn't have options. I would purchase a machine from cpap.com if I didn't have insurance. If you decide to do that, be sure to do your research. There is lots of info on this site about what most of us want on our machines. One of the most important features to look fo...

Re: Mask setting on CPAP
It is my understanding that the mask setting has nothing to do with the pressure. You set that and it stays the same. The mask setting has to do with the leak rate. Different leak rates are expected/permissible? for each mask. What it affects is the results you get for each night's sleep. Hope this ...

Re: Anyone use a chin strap with a Liberty hybrid mask?
I have the Innomed Hybrid mask which is similar to the Liberty Hybrid. It does take quite a bit if fiddling and tweaking to get it right. There are also some lab rat fixes on this site that may be helpful. Just search either liberty mask or lab rat fixes.

Re: Prescription for a mask?
Yes, you need a prescription for a mask. Cpap.com, and probably other sites, will get your doctor to fax it directly to them, but I prefer to have a hard copy in my hands! My printer will scan it, and I e-mail it to a site when I want to purchase a mask. My prescription covers machine and all cpap s...
