Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)
And, I can confirm that I wake up if there is any break in the airflow. The power has gone off a couple of times and I woke up and took my mask off.

Re: Nasal pillow preference/fit question
Thanks! The genius of you experienced CPAPers on this forum never ceases to amaze me. I wouldn't have thought of extra straps, but now that I see how it could work it makes so much sense. I've always been a princess about my sleeping arrangments, but it has only been since my Sleep Apnea diagnosis t...

Re: How did YOU Resolve Your Mouth-Leaks? (poll)
I am a tape and nasal pillow girl all the way! 3M Nexcare Water Resistant Adhesive Tape. It is a strong bond, even if you like lots of humidity and I don't get leakage through the tape like I do with paper tapes. I don't get irritation if I take it off carefully and don't take it off through the nig...

Re: Anyone experience a metalic smell from their CPAP?
I get a smell like that (quite horrible smell like burning metal) when the water runs out in my humidifier. I wonder if it could be turning itself on.

Nasal pillow preference/fit question
I could use some advice on your nasal pillow preferences. I have LOVED my original Opus (pre-360) nasal pillow mask for far too long already, but haven't yet had success finding a new nasal pillow mask that fits. The angle, distance of prongs, etc in the small Opus fits me perfectly. With the new Op...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE
I have all sizes of Opus 360 pillows, used just enough to test fit (about 1/2 night for S & M). I would love to get a hold of the old style Opus pillows (pre-360 version) size small.

Re: SHUT MY MOUTH: I Am Taping... and I'm Lovin' It!
Just another note from a confirmed taper! I find that it makes a huge difference and is quite comfortable. I recently switched from gentle medical paper tape to 3M blue painters tape for "Delicate Places' on advice from the forum and find that it works very well. I was still experiencing some leaks ...

Re: Finally can read my data - Help
Based on my experiences and from reading about similar experiences of others on this forum, I believe that everyone having higher AHIs or less restful sleep than they are willing to accept should track their sleep position versus their AHI number. You may learn that you have positional sleep apnea....

Re: New Mask. I hope it helps.
I made my own chin straps out of 2 inch wide elastic in a basic loop to go around the chin and top of the head, with a back loop sewn on at about 90% to keep it in place. You have to play around with the amount of tension a bit. For the next batch I will try velcro for the back loop to make it more ...

Finally can read my data - Help
Well, after jumping through hoops I got my card reader and can finally read my data. I still have to figure out how to clip the reports into a post, but am sure I can sort that out eventually. The detailed reports match how I am feeling, which is quite a different from the DME telling me that my num...

Re: I'm on my own in Ontario; as usual!
From what I've read here, find another DME post haste. I second that. I don't have much good to say about my MediGas experience; however, the guy (not an RT which would have meant a 2 week wait) at least showed me the main buttons, actually fitted me with a mask, and talked to me about cleaning my ...

Re: I'm on my own in Ontario; as usual!
Approaching the price gouging and fixing in Ontario now is timely. CBC.ca had an article on sleep apnea today. This afternoon it was the main page Health headline, but has since been pre-empted by medical use of marijuana. http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2009/08/18/sleep-apnea-premature-death.html Ch...

Re: Acceptable AHI numbers
This is such a great forum. I was questioning my own experience today since my DME told me that my events are "minimal" when plenty of nightly average AHI's are over 10 and many are over 5. I feel rotten when my nightly average AHI is over 5, not bad when it is around 3, and best when it is less tha...

Re: frustrated re: lack of improvement w #'s
[quote="bdp522"]Don't forget that the resmed machines will mark more Hypopneas than other machines. If the AI is good, cut the HI by at least 1/2 to get the same numbers that you would on any other machine. bpd522 can you please explain this a little more? I am having similar challenges with my AHI ...
