Re: Help?? Fitlife mask on an S8
Thank you Slinky - that is better information then what either Respironics or Resmed customer service gave. They both recommended the machine be set for the Mir full - which it already is. Not too sure about this mask. Fresh out of the package it sure felt nice and while setting it up it seemed grea...

Help?? Fitlife mask on an S8
Can anybody help with a setting question? I have the RESMED S8 Autoset Vantage machine and just got the new Respironics FITLIFE (not the Fulllife but the FITLIFE) mask. I can't tell which mask setting to put the machine on for this mask. Any ideas? Since my DME has only sold one of these masks (mine...

Re: BIG UPDATE: NEW RESPIRONICS PR Series Auto CPAP Released!
If it says "Respironics" anywhere on it that means it was released just days ago BUT they do not have them in stock yet, they don't have the support for them yet, the sales reps and customer service reps haven't been made aware of them yet and you'll be hard pressed to convince anyone at Respironics...

O/T (kinda) Hosehead Bumper Stickers
There seems to be a plethora of creative folk here and the posts show a great sense of humor. To that, how about listing some possible options for hosehead bumper-stickers (snickers). To start off, here are a couple ideas: Hoseheads get better in bed. Ask me about my 6' hose. Sleep good lately? Got ...

Re: Resmed warranty question
Doesn't matter much with RESMED what kind of warranty you get - trying to get them to honor any warrenty is difficult. My machine, purchased by my insurance through my original DME in October 2007 is still under it's 2 year warranty. Since I moved from the state where it was purchased and now live o...

Re: Newbie here with a question about keeping my mask on.
Jimmy - I just posted a similiar response on a similiar thread but here it is again. Pugsy is right that there is probably some reason why you are taking it off. In my case it turned out that one of the settings required by my prescription was not set - the EPR. Since there was no exhalation relief ...

Re: It's not all in your head--or maybe it is!
Sleepy - thank you for sharing this information. I slogged through over 20 years of a military career with all of those problems. It wasn't until 8 months prior to my retirement that OSA was finally diagnosed. While my career was good and my accomplishments many, it is sad to think how much BETTER i...

Re: Is there such a thing?
I had the same problem - taking the mask off after a couple of hours and going right back to sleep. Did that from October 2007 until just last month. Soon as I found this forum and learned some more about my machine and condition, I found that the EPR setting refered to on the prescription was not s...

Re: O/T An idea for those hot summer nights
DON'T DO IT!!! I followed your adive TO THE T (ok, ok, so maybe I did leave just a smidgen of the alcohol in there) and turned the cold-blowing hose on my wife. AFTER she beat my azz for turning the cold on her, she found a new place for that hose. I got one heck of a frostbite up the arse from that...

Respironics - MORONS!
For weeks I've been trying to get a "Sizing Guage" for the FITLIFE mask (not to be confused with the FullLife mask Please don't bother sending links to fitpacks, sizing charts, etc., for the FULLLIFE mask - it is a completely different beast). The geniuses at Respironics point me to the "Fitlife Pat...

Re: FullLife Sizing Guide
Bleeping Beauty - thank you for posting the sizing and info about this mask. I'd give parts of my anatomy to get the same kind of information on the FITLIFE mask they make.
Respironics themselves are having a hard time locating a sizing guide for the FITLIFE.

I guess I am too old and not tech-savvy or cool enough for this kind of conversation, There are probably lots of people your age on this board, Age doesn't get you a pass for ignorance, lack of effort or get you a pat on the head. Amen! Well said BlackSpinner! There is therapy for OSA. Ignorance, o...

Re: Life Insurance... retiring military?
Ditto to what MikeVader said. Specifically - if you submit your VA disability paperwork GREATER THAN 60 DAYS prior to your retirement date then you will get your disability rating in weeks or a few months rather than years. Also, if you have the option of SBP (Survior Benefits Plan) then you might w...
