Re: Are these common beginner problems?

Hi - am am a beginner too -- just under two weeks. My first 5 nights were pretty rough. Couldn't get to sleep. Got up and did stuff until I was to tired to see straight and tried again. Would fall asleep and wake up several times. I felt much worse than I had before CPAP. The last few nights have be...

Re: New to the Forum, Want to Say Hello and Thank you

Thanks, Mars - I thought I sent a reply but now don't see it. Yeh my oxygen level hung around 83% during my test. I might just check into that. It seems amazing to me that with software available --it isnt standard. I mean, how is the patient supposed to figure this stuff out? I guess if you feel be...

Re: Tired and Getting Worse UPDATE

Good to hear that chin straps are available. I am going to check into that. I find the nasal pillows are adjusting well, but once in a while the old jaw pops open. Happened last night just as I fell asleep #%*&@!&#&$&% ARRGH! However, I think that might have been cuz nose was congested. So I ask -- ...

Re: TITRATION UPDATE

Glad you had a better second experience. I like your user name, I also am Portuguese, originally from Mass - but moved when I was a child. Being Portuguese in the Midwest is rather rare even these days. People say you are WHAT? haha. Sleep well. Suz

Thanks, Mars, and DH is Darling or Dear Husband -- those are the "happy" versions -- He really is a good guy! I have added earplugs to my already crowded night time routine.

Re: New to the Forum, Want to Say Hello and Thank you

Hey Mark, our first two schnauzers were S&P and have had three named Heidi! I know that is lame, but it is a great name -- unfortunately the first two died rather young, but Heidi 3 lived till she was 13 - and earned retirement of the name. So Sophie is the new brat in town in the photo and is 3. I ...

Re: New to the Forum, Want to Say Hello and Thank you

Thanks everyone! Sorry to be so slow to respond. My cache apparently needed to be emptied as I have been trying to post for 3 days and keep logging in only to logged right back out! The good news is I have had a couple of nights of halfway decent sleep and hope I might be on my way to good sleep wit...

New to the Forum, Want to Say Hello and Thank you

Hello CPAP talkers - I posted my first today without properly introducing myself. What a great place this looks to be, especially for those of us who have no direct friends or family on CPAP. I started on my journey in April and have had my equipment one week. Not as easy as I had hoped, but I have ...

Re: Newbie and nervous

I am also new, being on my CPAP only a week. However, do be sure that you ask for what you need during your test, don't be shy! My tech first put a nasal pillow mask on and before we even started I said "NO WAY". So he put on a nasal mask and that lasted 15 minutes. I went back to the nasal pillow a...

Re: Week 1

Thanks, yes it is the REMStar Plus -- I will ask about the upgrade when I try another mask. I do start with a lower pressure - 4- and it works its way up gradually to my prescript setting which is an 8. I am mild to moderate and feel pretty lucky for that. Lots to learn - thanks again for your help!...

Week 1

Greetings - thanks to a long lost friend who contacted me on Facebook - I found this web-site. We actually were in the same stage of sleep tests etc when we connected. She had a lot shorter time from sleep study to CPAP - I guess it depends on how your Dr goes about things. Took me three months - to...
