Feel stupid asking this...

I have been on CPAP a year now. No one has contacted me regarding reading my card/machine...do I need to see someone about this? I have the ResMed S8 AutoSet. I don't know how to read it. Should I call the sleep center, or the company rep who set me up with the machine? I am not having any problems,...

Humidifyer use winter vs summer?

Hello, Boardies! I want to start using my humidifyer again. When I was first fitted last June, I got such bad rainout & tube popping, even after adjusting water levels & temp DOWN, that I stopped using the humidifyer for the summer. Do you long-time users find that the humidifyer is better in the wi...

Thanks for "Rainout" advice~

When I began with my CPAP in June, I was constantly awakened by what I learned is called "rainout" inside the mask. It continued, even after I stopped using the humidifyer. I brought it up here on this board, and one suggestion I received was to put a cotton string inside the mask. I cut up an extra...

Re: OT: Ham Radio

Oh, you brought back such great memories for me! My uncle was a licensed "ham" and it was such fun to sit in with him. For myself, my family (brother, mom and I, actually) got very involved with cB radios...definitely the "poor relation" but great fun. Rescued me on the road more than once. too, in ...

Re: Blowfish / Chipmink Cheeks

I, too, have experienced this to a small degree (nasal mask). So far, I have not minded too much, because I find that it keeps my mouth shut, where before, my open mouth snoring was SO bad that it's a wonder my husband has stayed with me so long! I will confess to "pop-popping" it out, bt not being ...

Re: Mystery solved-weight gain not due to CPAP

My thoughts and prayers are with you. At least now you can take positive action. I had an ovarian cyst--actively growing!--removed during the 2nd trimester of my second pregnancy...no picnic, but at least there was an explanation, action & no cancer. I hope it isthe same for you.

Connecticut and New Hampshire, but grew up living in MA,CT,RI,OH,NJ,NY,WA, and have travelled to/through many more. And,no, my dad was not in the military--he had planned to be, but left that life because he thought the family would have to move too often!

still newbie--reading & setting your own pressure?

Hello! I am so glad to have found this forum. I am curious--so many of you talk about reading your "numbers" and making adjustments--is that the general thing? My machine is an auto-set, supposed range btwn 8 and 20--I usually see it at 11 to 13.5 when I check it. But I just assume it has been prepa...

Re: Are these common beginner problems?

Hi~ I am still dealing with leak adjustments and rain-outs. I do wake sometimes during the night, often due to mask adjustment or shoulder pain from staying on one side so much (it seems like too much trouble to haul around to the other side!!) I am finding it all to get easier, but can't say i am f...

Re: My cpap mask is hurting me!!

I, too, had a painful experience with the ResMed nasal mask--a painful red rash, AND daily appearance of whiteheads in the mask area!! Ugh!! I have changed to one (they used this in the hspital and I had found it quite comfortable) which has a foam insert covered by silicone. I like it so much bette...

Condensation on Mask?

I stopped using the humidifyer attachment to my CPAP because even when it was set very low, I would still experience condensation drips, not to mention startling tube-pops during the night! We are having a very humid, rainy summer; I find that I still am awakened at night by condensation build-up/dr...
