ResMed S9 autoset or ResMed A10 autoset

I am about to replace my ResMed S9 autoset CPAP and am considering ResMed's newer model, the A10. I'm interested in opinions of folks who have used both devices, please.

Frequent sinus infections before and only one in two years after starting use.

Re: Medistrom Pilot-12 battery backup

I bought the Medistrom Pilot-24 battery backup for my ResMed S9 autoset. It's 24 volts versus the one that you list which is 12 volts. It works very well as a "Universal Power Supply." That is, you can unplug your machine from utility power and it continues to run without interruption. I have not te...

Re: Ultra-sonic cleaners & SoClean Ozone Cleaner

I've been using the SoClean 2 for about two years. Before I purchased it, I reviewed the microbiology culturing results and it look promising with respect to reducing colony counts for bacteria, molds, and fungus. Empirically, I've had only one sinus infection since I started using this device. As a...

Re: Those that wear Hybrids and have Higher pressure?

I just switched this week to the Mirage Quattro mask. My pressure is 17 and I struggled after my pressure was adjusted from 13 up to 17. This mask is working well so far. I agree with the comment about not adjusting close to bedtime and at full pressure. My wife help do the final adjustments for me ...

Re: Titrated at 17cm

My wife, Bridget, helped me do all the mask adjustments last evening. Very comfortable, quiet and absolutely minimal leaks. I think I found my first good mask - especially for comfortably supporting me at 17 cm H2O pressure levels.

Thanks everybody.

It's not normal. I got my meter about one month ago. It grips gently but firmly.

I got the Mirage Quattro mask today and it appears like it will be a very good mask. Thanks to those who replied w/ this suggestion.

Re: Titrated at 17cm

I'll get the software per your suggestion. BTW, the suggested avatar image did not come through.

You're right that the right mask has been the challenge and I'm still not there yet.

Re: Titrated at 17cm

Thanks for all of your replies. They are so helpful! So far I've noticed common themes: 1. The mask should just be sitting on face and not tightened too much. 2. Ensure that face and mask are as oil free as possible. 3. Mirage Quatro has several positive comments (the most of all that I noticed). In...

Titrated at 17cm

Once my pressure went from 13 to 17cm, I've had troubles with my FF masks. Most of the time, I've used the Fisher & Paykel Forma FF Mask. This worked well until the increased pressure. Now I have a red / sore / swollenn bridge on my nose and more leaks than I previously had. At the titration, they s...

Re: Sleep Study This Weekend

Interesting what your report said about Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). As you said, earlier in the report, it indicated zero OSA events but a number of Central Sleep Apnea events. From my reading, there are three types of sleep apnea, namely: OSA, Central Sleep Apnea (CSA), and Complex Sleep Apean (...

Re: Aerophagia - where to go from here?

I have a pretty high pressure - 17 cm - and I expericence some problems with gas in my upper and lower GI tracts. I use Gas-X as needed to deal with the problem. When titrated, recently at 21 cm, I experienced pain and requested the sleep technican to turn down the pressure. Upon doing so, I did not...

Re: Acceptable AHI numbers

This thread is very, very interesting. Since recently joining cpaptalk, I've pondered some of the same questions myself. For example, I've considered buying an oximeter and the software for my CPAP so that I can review the data on a, perhaps, weekly basis. What do most folks think about performing s...

High Pressure Mask choices

I've been on CPAP since March 2009 and just had my pressure raised from 13 to 17. I'd like to draw on the collective wisdom of users to find out the best choice of masks, etc. for those with a pressure of 17 or above. Thanks much.
