Re: Why so many apneas? Results
 Sorry, that's my inexperience in reading ResScan showing. I didn't ever see them when I looked for them -- now I do. It's those little blue unlfagged dashes (I was looking for flags). On a ResMed, AI=2, HI=6.2 is not that bad, since ResMeds tend to report more hypopneas in people's breathing...

Re: When Is A Cluster a Cluster?
So the primary question I have is ------ is there an agreed minimum number of events that need to have happened within a specific period of time, to then be known as a cluster? My other thought is ------- what if I say that a cluster is when one AH event occurs before I have recovered from the prev...

Re: When Is A Cluster a Cluster?
Hi All Sometimes I get what looks like a cluster of events on my waveform report. That is 2 or 3 or 4 events within about a five minute period. They can be a mixture of Ai and Hi. However, when they have occurred on a night I am using my oximeter, my blood oxygen level does not go below 90%. So my ...

Re: Why so many apneas? Results
I'm not a Dr., but I'd suggest you take things up a notch to 10 to see if that works better for you. another thing you can do is get yourself a recording oximeter and use that to evaluate your sleep in addition to the CPAP data. Oximeter is more accurate and ODI (Oxygen Desat Index provided by Oximi...

AHI vs. ODI
Hello, I am currently tracking AHI via my CPAP and ODI via a recording oximiter. I have found that, in some cases, my AHI trends upwards as my ODI trends down with increased pressure. This is almost entirely due to more recorded hypopneas by the CPAP machine. Apneas are almost completely gone. Has a...

Re: Help Interpreting Oximiter Results
Same oximeter, same discrepancies. I try to have my pressure where my ODI is on the lower side -- I feel the difference. O. Thanks very much, Can you tell me how you define "lower side?" What number or range do you target? and is the pressure you are using to get there significantly different from ...

Re: Help Interpreting Oximiter Results
I'm jealous of your reading... wish my O2 level was that high. Here's a bit of the data from my report on last night. Last night was pretty good ... only 2.1 minutes below 90% O2 sat. But I was below 95% 9l.6% of the time ... almost all night. Friday night AHI = 3.7 Basal Sp02(%) 92.8 Timemin<88% 0...

Re: Help Interpreting Oximiter Results
Thanks for your reply. I've only used it for a few nights and have noticed ther same lack of correlation you refer to. I'll keep using it to tryo to sort it out, but if anyone else has perspective, it would really be helpful. Arent desaturations all that really matter here? if I have an "event" with...

Re: Distilled water?
has anyone tried traveling with distilled water? can you get it through security? I travel every week and have been going without humidifier so far since its summer, but I expect I will need it in the winter.

Help Interpreting Oximiter Results
Hi everyone, I recently purchased and am using an SPO 7500 Oximeter. While I am happy with the product and software, I am having difficulty interpreting the results and was hoping that someone in the forum more knowledgeable might be able to provide an informal opinion. See my results from last nigh...

Re: sleepy during the day
Best thing you can do for yourself is to take control of your therapy. Get the data from your machine, analyze it yourself, and make hyour own determination if your pressure is OK or if it needs to move up or down. My (former) Dr. recommended initial pressure of 11 despite my titration study of 8. S...

Re: How many have had surgey and are still on cpap?
i had the surgery in 1992 and was told I was cured. I am now back on cpap in 2009 and am convinced that my apnea returned years ago - was working alot and just thought i wasnt getting enough sleep (because after all, I was cured!). Finally came up again when a very astute dentist who i was seeing fo...
