Re: Most effective ways for avoiding rolling onto back?
I too got a Zzoma a few months back and thought it was doing the trick. But over time I found I was able to roll in such a way as to get onto my back and slide the Zzoma around 90-degrees so the bulky thing is at my side instead of my back. I woke up this way a few times and eventually decided I wo...

Re: Most effective ways for avoiding rolling onto back?
I had tried most of the traditional advice. Sewing objects in a shirt, wearing a backpack, creating a barrier so that I couldn't roll over, and so on. For me, these things only caused me back and shoulder irritation. Admittedly, I thought the Zzoma was a bit gimmicky when Rooster first mentioned it,...

Re: Mouth breathing
I'm using the Ultra Mirage FFM. It works well for me. I have previously used the ComfortGel nasal mask, the Opus nasal pillows, and the Hybrid FFM. None of them worked well for me. However, I began to sleep better with the Ultra Mirage almost immediately. Coming from those masks, it was a little tri...

Re: Most effective ways for avoiding rolling onto back?
The backpack method was too difficult for me. It wasn't entirely effective and caused some strain on my shoulders from my movements in sleep. However, I ended up buying the Zzoma. My apnea index is now zero combined with CPAP. It was the shifting to the supine position that was really killing me. To...

Re: Most effective ways for avoiding rolling onto back?
So, how do you go about wearing the backpack? What do you usually put in it?

Re: Most effective ways for avoiding rolling onto back?
Bloody hell. That's a pain. Nevertheless, that's better than experiencing apneas.

Most effective ways for avoiding rolling onto back?
I know this has been an issue for many people, but I'm wondering if there has been any consensus on effective measures for avoiding the supine position during sleep. Unfortunately, I move a lot in my sleep, so it happens every now and then. The problem is that my sleep apnea is virtually untreatable...

Re: S8 Elite II Pressure Dropping?
I figured out the problem. Apparently my excessive drooling was causing regulation problems. After I made a 'drool absorber' for my mask, the problem went away.

S8 Elite II Pressure Dropping?
I've been waking a few times every night and noticing that the pressure seems off. It feels weaker than it should, but the stated value on the machine has remained the same. Has anyone else with this machine experienced this problem?

Re: All is well until...
The AHI at 8cm with my machine last night was < 1, but since it's only one night back on the data I think it will be some time before I think about adjustments.

Re: All is well until...
In retrospect I should have suspected something was wrong when the tech put my broken CPAP in the same travel bag he removed the loaner CPAP from, but the mental fog was only lifted last night after finally getting the appropriate amount of oxygen to the brain...

Re: All is well until...
Thanks for all of the replies. It turns out that one of the problems was with the machine itself. The DME gave me a defective CPAP as a loaner for my completely broken CPAP. It turns out the pressure it was giving me was not really constant at all, and much less than the value displayed. That messed...

All is well until...
I roll over onto my back and choke despite using CPAP. It seems like my sleep apnea is the result of my lower jaw being kind of set back, making it easy to cause obstruction. Thus, rolling on my back swiftly defeats CPAP. Even sleeping on my side isn't too great. I don't have any numbers at the mome...

Re: Hybrid Masks
I love my Hybrid. I started with a ComfortGel. It should be called the ComfortHell. That mask was a train wreck. I can't really tolerate anything against my nose. After that I tried the Opus, but had a mouth leak problem and the nasal pillows were uncomfortable. Then I came across the Hybrid and I'v...

Re: How old were you when you got diagnosed?
I'm 21. I've had the symptoms since middle school, but they were always diagnosed as something else. In April I finally had enough. I conducted research and recorded my life for about a month, and after analyzing the results I realized I had sleep apnea. My request for a sleep study was originally d...
