Re: Is it really necessary to clean your mask & tubing ?
I rarely clean the hose but I hang it to dry daily so it won't get moldy. I have to wash the cushion daily for seal but I hate the colour it tuns if I use any type of soap so I try to just use water and vinegar...until I start to get paranoid about bugs and then it is back to ugly coloured cushion. ...

Re: Pets and cpap
I had to train my cat to stay off my bed because he has fine fur that gets behind the mask cushion. Not only does it feel awful but I didn't want to breathe dirt. He pouted for a while but now knows to stay away from my bed.

Re: Mirage Activa users
Thanks for the responses. I think I will stick with the Activa. I did get the Lt last time but only used it a couple of times. I can't remember why I liked the regular Activa better but why fix it if it aint broken I guess. Thanks again for the input. I appreciate it.

Mirage Activa users
Hi all, It is time for me to order a new mask. I have always used (and loved) the Mirage Activa but I am wondering if Activa lovers have come across anything new that they have tried and liked. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Re: Problems in Canada with Socialized Medicine?
Canadian here. Never had a problem or met anyone (in 62 years) who has had a problem. I think many Americans are buying hype instead of doing actual research.

Re: DME doing periodic checks of machine
I can see the pressure number on my machine and it is still the same and everything feels like it is working the same so I think I will skip the 'check'. Thanks for the input.

Re: Waking up at night feeling anxious!!
That has happened to me a couple of times and the anxiety had no fear component. I am pretty sure it was related to having to struggle to breathe. I am not sure why this happens when using the equipment. Because I sleep very soundly I wondered whether I had blocked the expiration vent and was breath...

Re: DEM doing periodic checks of machine
Many posts later I see I typed DEM...I guess that is because I still don't know what the letters stand for....we don't have that in Canada.

Re: DEM doing periodic checks of machine
Well truthfully it isn't that difficult (I have inherited a whine gene from my mother), but it does seem like a bit of a waste if the machine does not show anything other than hours of use. For the last 3 years I just assumed they were checking something more but it occurred to me after reading thes...

DME doing periodic checks of machine
I get a notice once a year to bring my machine in to have it checked. As far as I know my machine only gives compliance hours so as long as it blows air how could they tell if it is "working"? I am tired of lugging it by bus just to be told...."Yep you used it".
Or am I missing something?

I disconnect the mask but leave the machine with hose attached running for 10 minutes every morning. Never wash it.

Re: mirage activa Lt
Thanks for your replies. I loved this mask the first couple of nights but now I am struggling with leaks and can't seem to get it just right. I also have wonky fingers (arthritis) and find it harder to unclip the mask than the original activa. I actually thought it was better last night using the sh...

mirage activa Lt
I've been using this mask for about 2 weeks now and it just occurred to me that maybe I am supposed to be using the short hose that I used on the activa? I just hooked up the long one right to the mask since no short hose came with this new mask. Sorry for the stupid question. Anybody know? thanks i...
