Re: Mouth-breathing questions

Thanks everyone! I'll keep this short because I keep losing my post.... I don't use bp meds - had a flu, actually. Now back at it with cpap but this morning I had an angry looking stripe on the right side of my nose, where the Eson seal would sit. anyone experienced this? Haven't seen it before; it'...

Mouth-breathing questions

Hi. I'm trying to use my cpap equipment, and been reasonably successful in the past 3 weeks. I'm taking a break now, though, because I've developed a dry cough and I want to see if it goes away if I stop for awhile. I wanted to ask about the nose-cone mask - specifically, F&P Eson. I'd been using a ...

That doesn't work for me... but we're off topic.

Re: Oral Appliances: Let's Correct This Understanding

This is an interesting discussion that I want to keep tabs on - but I gather the only way for me to get notifications of new activity is to post a reply, so that's what I'm doing. Sorry for the intrusion....

Lesson: never do the downward dog yoga pose when you're at risk of lymphedema and you also have fibromyalgia!

An update....

Just to report in, I've been struggling with the "terrible fatigue" again for the past few days. I haven't slept wonderfully (probably due to the painkillers I've had to take at bedtime the past few nights), but I've been getting more consistent hours so I haven't felt as devastated in the morning. ...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

Well, I've seen the new respiratory tech plus my gp. Apparently my mask is fitting me well, my leaks are under control and my AHI has been looking good for the past week. I mentioned feeling my throat close when I'm dozing, even when I'm on cpap, and she said I should try bumping up my pressure from...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

Gasparama, I remember learning that iodine is important for proper thyroid function - perhaps you already know this. Back "in the olden days," people with goiter / thyroid dysfunction would get large swellings on there throat area. Then they discovered that treating them with iodine fixed their thym...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

I've got to tell all you kind souls who responded to my cry for help that I finally had a good night's sleep! I did take a drug in order to do so, but it didn't screw up the quality of my sleep because I woke feeling great. I actually slept for 6 hours uninterrupted - hallelujah! Last year I was put...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

Millich, I only take the 1000 IU vitamin D and 3 tabs of ~300 mg Ca/Mg/Zn. I take the D in the morning and one tab of Ca/Mg/Zn at bedtime. Back in terrible fatigue mode right now.... Rustyolddude, I will make a list to remind me of all those things I should monitor. But frankly it makes me SO tired ...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

The Excel spreadsheet does sound like the way to go for that log - thanks, rustyolddude & millich. I have been scribbling my Elite data on the back of my last ResScan print-out, but one day I'll forget that's where I wrote it! This morning I made an appointment to see another respirologist on Wed, m...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

Millich, I was warned about clonazepam increasing apnea, and I've found myself that Tylenol #3 (which contains caffeine!) is a no-no after 4 pm. I hadn't heard that Domperidone was a culprit, though. I'll keep an eye on it, and only take it if I'm in real pain. Thanks. John, my cpap machine has a sc...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

Last night the Elite's data screen showed Leak .26 L/s, AHI 6.0, AI 0.8, HI 5.2 (I wore my mask from 9:00 to 3 am, waking up every 2 hours). You might want to bump up your pressure by .5 cm for a few days at the time. Spend a few nites at each new pressure and see how the numbers look and how you f...

Re: Terrible Fatigue

Well, I have days where it takes quite a while to feel 'normal' in the a.m., but after something to eat, and a bit of busyness, I can feel fine the rest of the day, or possibly add in a short nap in the afternoon. And I have days where I feel great in the a.m., but later on want a nap, and feel wor...
