Re: Will I reach an AHI of zero? Should I?
tattooyu is right. My machine is too sensitive. I was just lying down and reading a book for 20 mintues with the mask et al. Out of curiosity I checked my reading and it had an AHI of 12.7. Since I was awake the whole time, I think every moment I made or tried to scratch my nose, it has recorded it ...

Re: Will I reach an AHI of zero? Should I?
Araminta - I have the same question for Gerald/others. So if the number of AHIs I have has no bearing on my oxygen level, then how can I increase my oxygen level?

Re: Will I reach an AHI of zero? Should I?
Thanks all. I will try to get an Oximeter. As I said, my main concern is that I am not feeling too 'bright' even after I started using the CPAP. But I will definitely keep going and may be report back. I would like to get the software but with the software not being available here, I am not sure I w...

Will I reach an AHI of zero? Should I?
I have been using my CPAP machine for the last four weeks. I am finally becoming comfortable with the machine and am able to sleep through the night most of the time. During the sleep study I was diagnosed with having an AHI of 25-42/hr with 92% O2 levels. I don't have the sofware to look at the gra...

What do your family members think?
Newbies/Experienced users - What do your family members think about the mask and the therapy in general. I have been sleeping in a separate bedroom (my choice - so as not to disturb my wife) since I started wearing the mask. I keep wondering about how my wife will react once once I become comfortabl...

Re: Not breathing with CPAP on!
As promised - here's the update. I raised the minimum ramp to 5.6 and the airflow to 8.8. I think it was better but I did get up twice and the second time, I took of the mask. Tonight I will change the ramp setting to 7 and the airflow to 9.4 (the doctor said 'gradually increase' didn't he???) and l...

Re: Not breathing with CPAP on!
Thank you all for your supportive posts and also your suggestions. I will try them tonight BlackSpinner - what happens is that I slowly wake up and realise that I am not breathing. It could be anxiety attacks - I don't know - but I don't seem to get up breathless rather 'Hey, I am not breathing!'. B...

Not breathing with CPAP on!
Hi All, I have been reading the posts for the last day or so trying to find an answer to my problem but in vain. I am a new user - started about 4 days ago. My equipment details are given below. My current setting is 8cm (gradually to be increased to 10 cm - as per my doctor's prescription). I have ...

Re: New Cpap user--waking up suffocating, help!
Hi Luigi,
I had the exact same problem last night and I use the same machine (but with pressure setting as '8'). I started using CPAP just four days ago.
Did you get a resolution? Can you please post it for my (and others like us) benefit?
Thanks
