Re: Do You Use More Than 1 Mask?

This forum is the greatest pool of information in the world on the CPAP subject! I'm convinced my sleep doc doesn't know the first thing about SA, as long as I'm using the CPAP he thinks I'm doing great...I finally convinced him to order me a "smart" machine so I could download data and when I went ...

Re: Tired of CPAP!!

B I can sympathize with your feelings of "hate" for this nightly procedure...I've been doing CPAP for just a little over five months and have been reading this forum for six months. The people here have helped me so much more than my docs and the information here is so valuable and "free"!!! I have ...

Re: POLL: Apnea and Blood Pressure

I had fairly high BP for years (160/90) but my doc didn't seem too concerned...took Caduet daily and BP was steady. Then my doc retired, the new doc that took over discovered a blood clot in my rt leg on my first visit and pow! 10 days in the hospital. She changed my BP meds and never could get it u...

Re: Trying to find the right settings.

Thanks, Wulfman With four years experience I think you're much more knowledgeable than my DME and maybe even my sleep Doc! I do get up several time a night (for bathroom break...4-6 times) and I have found that if I wipe my face with a damp cloth and dry before remasking I get a better seal. I've tr...

Re: Trying to find the right settings.

I'm really interested in the outcome of this post. Been on autoPAP for about two weeks...I print out my data every day and am trying to make connections. I was titrated at 11...the new machine goes from 4 to 20 and the DME wanted to leave it open at that but I had read somewhere on this forum to set...

Re: Another newbie-sore nose, questions, rants

I use the Quattro mask also...had lots of problems with leaks at first but am finally getting it under control...not perfect but better. Yes, you do have to adjust the knob on the forehead adjustment to fit "your" head. I actually have mine barely resting on my forehead now...the seal inflates and r...

Re: Newbie with a thousand questions!

Thanks, Muse...I'm going to go print that out right now, then have some errands to run so be back tomorrow! But while I'm gone... Question #6 ... What does OT stand for? Question #7 ... What does UARS stand for? Question #8 ... My data report does not give me my O2, so how do I know if it is at 93% ...

Re: Questions for those with asthma

Hi! I grew up with asthma, 60+ years! Tried shots and lots of different inhalers but too many triggers (dust, cats, dogs, pollen, spring, summer, winter, fall...they all brought something) But thirteen years ago, my oldest grandchild had asthma so we took him to a specialist who prescribed the same ...

Re: Newbie with a thousand questions!

Wow!! So much information to process. Muse and Gerald, is it against the rules for me to print out your replies and show them to my Dr? My sleep Doc thinks its great that I'm reading this forum and learning so much, but primary Doc, I'm not sure about...some docs think patients read too much and sho...

Re: Newbie with a thousand questions!

Hey, I love this forum!! You guys are going to get tired of me!! Thanks for the nice reply Rested Gal..I was just reading one of your posts on another persons question and I thought "she looks so nice, I hope she talks to me!" And Gerald thanks for the input also. Re: Newbie with a thousand questions!

Thanks for the quick answer! Got the equipment listed. I went to the FFM because of mouth breathing and snoring and extreme claustrophobia! Tried taping, tying (with panty hose, surgical tape) and couldn't keep it on 5 minutes. The FFM is bad enough, also fight it all night. Am still waiting for tha...

Newbie with a thousand questions!

OK Here goes nothing...I'm not too computer smart so please excuse the errors. Have been on CPAP for 5 months and learned more from this forum than from my doctors or my DME (learned what those initials mean here!) How do I list my equipment? I'm on a REMstar Auto M Series with C-flex, use a Mirage ...
