Re: Big Weight Loss
-Low carb diet, but you'll have to go through carb withdrawal for about a week. Most people give up on this diet because of the withdrawal...most people don't even know that they're on withdrawal. -CRON diet, but make sure you know your vitamins and supplements. -Paleo diet, which is easiest of all ...

Re: Lost 75 pounds- Apnea not better, Mask doesnt fit
Unfortunately, I can also attest that losing weight might not eliminate sleep apnea. I lost weight, worked out, and gained 12 lbs of muscle with less than 8% body fat, but I still have OSA. On the other hand, losing weight and undergoing UPPP did help with my OSA but not eliminate it. You're doing t...

Re: MIRAGE SWIFT LT QUALITY POLL--THE RESMED CHARADE???
If I were Resmed, I would point everyone who have had problems with their Swift LT in the direction of their DME's. You guys/gals are wasting Resmed's and your time. I shake my head as I wade through this thread. Disgusted with Resmed? Huh? You don't have to be thankful, but everyone in this thread,...

Re: How many have had surgey and are still on cpap?
You can also try a dental TAP III device, which extends your lower jaw to open the airway to prevent apnea. This is a great option and I'm seriously considering it myself to use solely or to compliment my cpap therapy. However, it does degrade jaw alignment in some patients. You can find more info h...

Re: How many have had surgey and are still on cpap?
I hope I am not beating a dead dog but I have tried searching for UPPP surgery here and do not get much info. I would like to know how many of you have had surgery and are still using a cpap. If you don't mind sharing what your apneas were before and after surgery or any experience or where I might...

Re: Is Anybody Happy with CPAP? Did Anyone...?
I have no problems adapting to CPAP, and it's like 2nd nature to me, but I don't like it and never will. I slept like a rock during my sleep study and no Ambien needed. Who wants to wear a hose to bed for the rest of their lives? I have had surgeries (UPPP, tonsillectomy, turbinate bicoblation) to h...

Re: coblation turbinate reduction
Was your procedure done in a doctor's office? No, the procedure was done at a hospital as an outpatient because my insurance wouldn't allow the procedure to be done at his office, so I was put under general anesthesia for a 15 minute procedure that could have been done in a doctor's office under lo...

Re: coblation turbinate reduction
I had the turbinate coblation done 3 months ago, and I breathe much better and it was essential to my cpap therapy. Not much pain with the procedure since it was a coblation technique, so you should be able to work the day after. However, if you suffer from nasal allergies, the coblation is of no he...

Re: Claritin
I never had clear nasal passages and always suffered from nasal allergies until I had a turbinate resection, which helped tremendously. Because I now have clear nasal passage, I can tell what food or medication causes nasal congestion and inflammation. I found out last night that I am, nasally, alle...

Re: My experiences with CpapAuction,Would Love to hear yours
I've been seeing sleeprightonight buying up cpap machines, too. It's obvious, as some one else stated, that he's buying cheap cpap machines/masks at cpapauction.com and selling it on his website at inflated prices. I guess he believes that he's the first person to come up with this business model. H...

Re: Would a Private Boycot of ResMed be a Fair Tactic?
No, I don't think we should boycott Resmed, as indicated by Jeff, because it is the FDA that prohibits software that can alter cpap pressure settings. Resmed does not adhere to this policy outside the US, which is quite indicative of why Resmed, because of the FDA, is restricting their Rescan softwa...
