Re: Throwing the FullLife in the Ring: PC11

I, too, have signed up for the challange. I alternate from the quattro & liberty FFM. The quattro also makes my nose sore, but it is a very good mask. I just wish they'd re-engineer the nose part. I also like the liberty. It is a comfortable mask, with no problems. My sleep lab just had a presentat...

Re: First night on cpap - Have question

I used my cpap last night for the first time, Resmed auto, swift LT nasal mask, I only woke up one time, from my right nostril being clogged !!!!! Super, super dry mouth, must have been mouth breathing. I couldn't swallow. I had humidifier set on 2,. Called Resmed this morning, told me to set on 4,...

Re: New. Need help with my CPAP

I, too, had problems getting the DME to help me find the proper mask. He just acted like it was unusual to not be able to use the mask that he picked for me to use. I finally went to the sleep lab (4 or 5 times) for help to find the right mask. They let me "borrow" different masks until I found the...

Re: Poll... curious about how many CPAP users smoke.

Just ran across this topic & thought I'd chime in. I do NOT smoke, although I tried in junior high school. I just never liked the smell. I have severe allergies & asthma, so I cannot tolerate any smoke whatsoever. I don't look down on smokers, I just can't be around smoke because it sets off asthma...

Re: ResMed Problems

BonnieG, just exactly which Resmed model xPAP do you have? The avatar you picked is for the Resmed S8 Compact which can NOT have two pressure settings. You indicate your pressure settings are 12 and 16 which would infer that you either have an APAP (auto PAP) or a VPAP (bi-level). We could give you...

Re: ResMed Problems

Hi, just have to go into the usage menu/info, and you can see the total hours the machine has on it. This is not resettable, well... maybe Resmed can if they recondition it, but highly unlikely that they would. No-one else will be able to do it. If you're concerned about that stuff, go into the mac...

ResMed Problems

Hi, I'm kindda new here. I am having issues with my machine...The pressure is 12/16. This machine will almost stop blowing air then it will almost blow my mask off for no apparent reason. This is the second machine that has done this. The first one Lindcare picked up & left me a "loaner" machine. Af...

Re: Need help for stuffy nose nights

Hi all -- Overall, I've been adapting to life as a hoser pretty well, although last night was the first rain out I've had. But the current grass allergy season finds me w/ a stuffy nose and difficulty using my Swift for Her mask. I'm on all kinds of allergy meds and I've begun saline cleanse again....

Re: FULL FACE MASK AND OTHER CONCERNS

I have OSA and have a full face mask that hurts my nose and leaves marks. I have tried putting a cotton pad but it comes off and am concerned it could get into the mask and my open mouth ! I am wondering who out there might have a comfortable mask that they can tolerate. I have a new computerized m...

Re: feeling depressed since diagnosis

I agree, give yourself time to adjust. Maybe try using your machine during the day, for an hour or so, to get used to the idea. I was the same way. I suggest you read through this forum & get a feel of what is to be expected during your new way of life. There are a lot of friendly & helpful forum us...

Re: OT: waiting on a call... hoping for the best...

Paul56, Sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she heals well & quickly. I have rhumetoid arthritis & I have had a total hip replacement. You might want to buy a bedside potty/with handles to help her up & down, without having to do alot of walking to start off. Also, I would clear with her in hosp...
