Re: Sweat around mask getting in eyes
Sorry for the late reply, I've been busy working for the man. I no longer use the nasal pillows. I should update that. I am using ultra mirage nasal mask II with this problem. I am not sure if it is sweat but my eyes sting bad when I wake up. Could I be getting an air leak and having air blow on my ...

Sweat around mask getting in eyes
Almost every morning when I wake up it's as if I've been sweating all night and suddenly upon waking I get a rush of sweat in my eyes that stings pretty bad. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: burning inside nose with pillows
I do use a humidifier but it's on the lowest setting. I'll try cranking it up a few notches.

burning inside nose with pillows
I finally got my nasal pillows to stay in for an entire night. When I woke up the inside of my nose was on fire (not literally). Is this something to be expected or will I get used to it? The burning quickly went away after taking off the mask but this is the kind of thing that could cause me to wak...

Re: Nasal pillows, how far up the nose?
That could explain my discomfort LOL. I had been stuffing them up inside my nose. I'll try again this weekend.jweeks wrote:Matt,
Ummm, they aren't supposed to go in your nostrils.

Nasal pillows, how far up the nose?
How far up in your nostrils are these things supposed to fit? I keep trying to learn to use my Resmed pillows but they fall out after about 3 hours and my nose will be runny and I can't get them to go back in and stay.

Eye lid wrinkle from mask causing temp blindness?
I took a nap today and when I woke up my (old respironics) mask was in an odd position smashed face down on my pillow. I could not see out of the top half of my right eye! I freaked out thinking I had gone blind. I had an aunt that went blind and it happened within a matter of two hours. I looked at...

Do you ever go a night without CPAP?
I'm having a lady friend over this weekend overnight. We'll be sleeping together (in both meanings of that phrase, LOL). I'm afraid to introduce her to the CPAP at this point. She knows I use one but she's never seen or heard the noise of one of the machines. I'm afraid that she will start thinking ...

Re: Can't identify my new machine
It's an S8 Escape II. As for the question of why I took the machine, the DME told me that this is what your insurance pays for. Not knowing anything about all of the different machines, I didn't know if I got an inferior machine and even if I did want a different machine, I didn't have $1,000-$1,500...

Re: Nasal Pillow causing windburn in nostrils and on face
Now I'm more ticked off at my DME for not giving me all 3 sizes of pillows. I only got the medium. I thought it was odd in that the bag it came in was labelled "Resmed replacement parts".

Re: Nasal Pillow causing windburn in nostrils and on face
One person told me that the pillows were not supposed to be inserted into the nostrils. That did not make sense to me. I'll keep trying until I get it right. I figured the air on my face meant it was leaking. I don't know what Ayr Gel is. Is it some type of gel/lotion like vaseline? I wish I had a D...

Nasal Pillow causing windburn in nostrils and on face
I've been using the new mask 2 nights. I put the pillows slightly inside each nostril. The air creates a burning sensation and it also shoots cold air onto my face which obviously is not comfortable. What am I doing wrong?

Can't identify my new machine
It's a Resmed and it says EPR on it. I tried to find a Resmed EPR on the drop down menu on this board but the closest is the EPR auto PAP. Mine is not an autopap, at least not to my knowledge. I started with an auto but my DME changed it out.
