Code: Select all

Gosh, a year and a half of "me too's". Still on offer?
Planning to upgrade hardware beyond my poor viewer's grasp.
Want. Need. Thanks.

Re: Poll: how long before felt you had more energy?

Still waiting, but it's looking up. It took about six months before I could go to sleep easily with the mask on. I would wake up several times in the night with the mask next to me in the bed. Put it back on and try to fall asleep again. Then for several months could get no more than five hours slee...

Re: Switching from Respironics to ResMed

Probably the best decision you will ever make regarding your therapy. I made the switch long ago and haven't looked back since. AKCPAPGUY What were your issues with respironics, and how is resmed better? I have an Auto M and am thinking of getting resmed for a backup/travel machine. Having to buy t...

Re: Report on the Total Face Mask

I do not like a FFM, but had the Quattro as a backup for colds and such. Hubby wanted to try the nasal mask, but it wasn't working for him, so he was using the Ultra Mirage, which kept leaking too badly, so he tried my (now his) Quattro. He likes it. So, his LT is now my LT, my Quattro is now his Q...

Re: New Mask Doesn't Touch the Nose

Arizona-Willie posted about his experience with the Total Face mask from Respironics: http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t38938/Report-on-the-Total-Face-Mask.html Granted, that's a different mask than the one you saw at the meeting, Bev, but what happened to Willie (autopap going to max pressure for...

Re: No longer needing cpap

There are certainly other treatments for OSA than xPAP. Like most things medical, different things work for different people. There are dental appliances, significant weight loss, stopping alcohol use, changing sleeping positions, sleeping in a chair, and no doubt many more. Yeah, sleeping in a cha...

Re: Mask suggestions

Respironics has just released a new mask called the Fit Life that looks much better than the Total Face. I just saw if tonight and don't know if the DMEs have it yet. Cool. Wonder what the diffs are between fit life and total face? I already call the cpap my Darth Vader machine... waiting for a mas...

Re: Mask suggestions

I'm getting a Mirage Quatrro medium on Tuesday. I've never tried it, but many people on this board seem to like it. The DME says its the most popular full-face mask, lighter than my Comfort Gel. If I don't like it, I'll go back to the Comfort Gel which is working OK, but I do have to readjust the f...

Re: Mask suggestions

The Ultra Mirage is on my list, perhaps the DME would let me try one? The Respironics Total might also work. I am talking about full face masks, having the bottom of it touch my nose would be quite a funny look. The leak-free sweet spot is very narrow, not much wiggle room on placement with this mas...

Mask suggestions

I'm looking for a better-fitting mask. I have a Quattro medium, which fits very well, except at the top of my nose. My nose is fairly high at the bridge, so the top corner of the mask is just barely deep enough. A good seal requires it to be too tight, causing marks, iritation, blemishes. I expect t...
