AirTouch F20
I would never stray from my trusty Resmed Mirage Quattro but they want me to try this new memory foam offering. Tried it in the office and got a good seal. I like that there is no forehead support and has fancy magnetic strap attachments and easy disconnect. Not too sure about the durability of the ...

Re: Freaking Out
Finally made it to the doc, twice. They did an EKG and some blood tests-all fine. One night along the way I was finally able to go to sleep without the panic attack. Slowly getting back to normal. Anti-panic drugs (like Xanax) did nothing. A sleeping pill (like Ambien) seems to help a little. Fairly...

Re: Freaking Out
Taking advise and wearing the system while watching TV. etc. Every little bit helps I think. Still tired........ Maybe you need to watch one of those Norwegian tv shows - 11 hours of sitting on a ferry or train with soothing music..... http://www.policymic.com/articles/77517/why-norwegian-tv-shows-...

Re: Freaking Out
Thanks guys, I'll try some sinus relief. It does tend to get dried out and that can contribute to the issue dramatically. I did get some sleep last night, but not much with the xPAP, which is where I ultimately need to get back to. It's crazy I am having these issues now, after being so committed to...

Re: Freaking Out
Just finished my foot soak. Very relaxing. I called the sleep doc and managed to get my appt. Moved up to next Thursday. On the way home from work I decided to just go in there and see if I could get some help. My Dr. Was already gone but I talked to the assistant for awhile. She sent me over to the...

Re: Freaking Out
Stacy, I am sorry to hear that after many years of use xPAP has now become difficult to use. I am going a little outside the box here, but find a pan that is big enough to soak your feet in. About an hour before bedtime put 1/2 cup of Epsom salt in the pan and put water as hot as you can handle in ...

Re: Freaking Out
I just thought about another medication I am taking for chronic sciatica. It's a patch and I already ripped it off. May be interfering. One of the possible side effects is "difficulty breathing". Of course, it could be a million other things as well. Some side effects of Butrans may not be reported....

Re: Freaking Out
I am back to my old M series machine at my prescribed pressure. Feels more like an old friend. Too bad it does not make a difference. Nothing does. Asked my regular doctor for a referral for a new pulmonary specialist, or a shrink or both. Nothing yet and night is coming. I go to bed, but not to sle...

Re: Freaking Out
It's OK, some people are anti-meds. But I always ask about my meds and take them diligently as prescribed, usually with very good results. It does not seem like a good idea to stop taking an anti-anxiety drug during a period of extreme anxiety anyway. Nothing from my sleep Doc yet except he does not...

Re: Freaking Out
I have been on Celexa for about 7 years. Made a HUGE difference in my life. If you ask my co-workers, it's when the "new me" began. Previously (most of my adult life) I was way too anxious and had a VERY hard time relaxing, even on my weekends sitting in the hot tub lol!. I was angry, irritable, imp...

Re: Freaking Out
Dr. wants to see the data. Why did they not download the dang thing when I was in there the other day getting a new machine? So find out they said the card was corrupt, which was why they gave me a new one. I put the card in my home computer yesterday and Windows said it had some errors, but fixed t...

Re: Freaking Out
I watched TV and read with the mask (and machine) on for about 3 hours last night until about 9:00 PM. No issues really, felt fine. Almost dozed off a few times. Tried again right before bedtime at about 11PM and felt really uncomfortable and took it off. Drank some peppermint tea with camomile, hal...

Re: Freaking Out
Thanks. Looking at the data for that night, there was an "event" of some sort right before I woke up and turned off the machine. AHI went up to 2.0 for the hour before. Volumes and flow rates spiked right before. No data for 5 minutes then very erratic readings for the next five minutes before I fin...

Re: Freaking Out
OK, thank you! I will try putting it on today while watching TV and reading. I think this one event, whatever caused it, has snowballed into a subconscious terror of the mask and breathing in general. Last night was the worst of all, as I discovered I am now also afraid of just falling asleep, machi...
