I trust you're a SleepyHead user? Do you see the same variance in the Tidal Volume? I've always been a Respironics user, but trust that SH does TV on Resmed.

Medicare & new machine restrictions
I know this is bound to be a repetitive question! Please forgive me!! My sister has been told she will only have a limited selection when she's eligible for a new machine. What's the secrets for making sure she gets a data capable machine? To let me help her with the data, I'd like her to continue w...

Re: Chin Strap Durability
Chinstraps are all kinds of necessary in my therapy and also my Achilles heel. Ruby straps were probably the 3rd or 4th kinda I tried. It seemed to be a miracle, for maybe 2-3 weeks, when they seemed stretched out. I shortened the chin, by sewing a pinch out of the chin. when that quit working I res...

Re: Has anyone ever used their cpap on a charter bus?
I use mine when traveling on Amtrak. I'm not sure if it's needed, as our apnea is decreased while in a seated position. For me, it's just part of going to sleep. Putting on the mask is part of my comfort zone. I don't know that I sleep any better, but I feel like it's teh right thing to do. I usuall...

Re: Chin strap suggestion please.
I cannot address the FFM. I've been a nasal mask or pillows for my 8 years w/CPAP. I tried 5 different chinstraps before coming to the papcap. I found most of the neoprene based straps like the Ruby lost it's support capability way too quickly. I found material twice a thick, traced a Ruby and built...

Re: Oximeter
I asked my DME to use their pulse-ox to verify the data from my CMS-50D that indicated I was hitting 70% 3-4 times a night for 10 mins or so at a time. The DME called the Doc for an order. Our only doctors in my small town work for the local hospital. My Doc hijacked the request and requested I use ...

Re: Slightly frustrating DME visit
I'd look the DME right in the eye and tell them "I don't know how that happened. You're the only ones that can change that right?" It's so sad that WAY too many in the medical professions are so poorly informed!! I've had primary care physicians that had no idea what to put on a prescription or that...

Re: Scary Stupid People
For me it's earplugs rather than fans. I worked various forms of night shifts and I got used to earplugs to sleep during the day with plenty of kids playing near my window in the summer. When I left nights I found that I slept better with earplugs, even at night. I said it was part of my routine. Tr...

Re: Question about Phillips Respersonics System One
It's my caveman, redneck method but pulling as much of the hose as possible under the covers warms the air quite a bit. Many people get the hose all tangled up in the covers, but it's never been a concern for me. It's quick fix until you get hardware changes in place

I'd just go to sourceforge and download the new one. It should ask if you if you want to overwrite(replace) the old.

Dinycat How did the humidity adjustment work out? As you settle in on the board, please go to the User Control Panel>Edit Equipment in your profile. We can be much more help after we have that info. Then, if you have a data capable machine, SleepyHead freeware software can help with more understandi...

Re: Switched from CPAP to APAP
Harold, what was your CPAP pressure? I'd think having a range just under that but with a little more room above the old CPAP pressure would be a place to start.

Re: New Member "bummed" following trituation study
I agree with Julie. I've been on CPAP for 8 years, but was wondering if changes needed to be made. I went in for a new titration study and couldn't get to sleep at all!! Wasted my $320 co-pay on that one!! I'm glad I've resolved my questions by doing adjustments at home. I think I'd have a tough tim...
