Re: Spouse's Reactions
My wife has been very pleased. She can actually get a full nights rest now! She used to beg me to read a book until she went to sleep, so she could get some rest until my snoring would inevitably wake her up. The only issue is when I occasionally turn toward her and blow air into her back. But, I ca...

Re: Please Help, CPAP Making Symptoms Worse
I used to have a bunch of floaters also, when I was back in college. I had one of the school nurses mention that she tended to get them around the time when her glasses prescription was due to be changed. When I actually got fitted for glasses, they went away. The eye Dr. said not to worry about the...

Re: Bed situation: Older married couples only
Well, I usually face away from my wife. But there times when it most comfortable facing her. I've gotten so I just automatically bring the sheets over my face (like a veil) and that seems to work quite well.

Re: trouble with sleeping with partner
My wife and I still sleep together every night. It's better than it has been in the past, since I don't snore. Now, it's true we don't snuggle quite like we used to because of the air blowing out. But I find I can cover that up with the sheet or blanket and it doesn't bother either one of us. We do ...

Re: Very nervous
I guess I got lucky then. The first mask I got has worked pretty well, once I got the straps worked out. I use the Swift LT. and I have the pillows just barely tight enough to seal against my nares. It's pretty comfortable. In fact, there are times (rare) that as I'm drifting off I touch my face to ...

Re: Travel with the Cpap
I've only done it once so far, but I didn't have any problem. Just take the machine out of the bag and place it in the bin, like they ask that you do for laptops. They had a guy do the explosives swab and that was it. I went on my merry way. But, naturally, it depends on what kind of TSA agents you ...

Re: 2 New Guy questions
"Yes dear" is always a good (safe) approach. My wife and I have gotten to the point where questions are asked and things discussed before bedtime. It was bothersome when, as I am warm and comfy and drifting off, suddenly it's 20 Questions! Bedtime is sleep-time. Anyway, I don't put on my mask until ...

I must caution you however that with my pharmacy background, the MJ of my days in the 60' and 70's is about 1/100th the potency of newly cultivated strains that are now considered extremely addictive and the treatement for getting off these new strains is a big business in drug rehab centers recent...

Re: Exhale Puff index? What does it mean?
Hmm, well, this is weird. My EPI has been as high as 33, usually in the upper 20's. However, my AHI has never gotten above 4. In fact, my average over the past 30 days is 20 for my EPI and 1.5 for my AHI. I was slightly concerned about my high EPI's, but then it doesn't seem to be negatively affecti...

Re: Let's talk BOOZE!
Well, on Mondays we go to bar trivia with my family. I typically have a couple martinis (dry as a bone and filthy as hell) and then follow up with an older cocktail (Tom Collins, Gimlet or maybe a gin and tonic) My AHI, if it's any worse, is still under 5. However, I've noticed my EPI goes up a lot....
