Re: Rainout with S9 Autoset + Climateline
One other data point: I hooked up my Aussie hose to the Autoset last night, and set the humidity level to 2. No rainout!

Re: Rainout with S9 Autoset + Climateline
I called ResMed technical support. They said that there isn't a way to tell if the host is heating properly, other than the presence of rainout. Since I am having such problems with rainout while using the ClimateLine, they said it is likely that there is a fault either with the hose or with one of ...

Re: Rainout with S9 Autoset + Climateline
Try rolling up the hose and cover it with a pillow as a test. This should trap heat and allow you to feel if it is working. I do this I hotels with my aussie hose to make sure that I have the power adapter connected properly. Yes, this works well with my aussie hose too. I find that if you just tou...

Re: Rainout with S9 Autoset + Climateline
The climate line prevents rain-out in the tube, however it does not stop rainout in the mask. I would suggest a barrel cozy or cover. I was getting some rain-out in my Swift LT mask...however I added pad-a-cheek barrel cover and the problem was solved. I will try that. I do have a hose cover at hom...

Re: Rainout with S9 Autoset + Climateline
I asked about the temperature of the hose while running, a few months back and the response was that no one else can sense the heat on their Climatline hose. With that, I suspect you never really know if it is working or not. I assume that your machine and/or hose is above your head. The water can'...

Rainout with S9 Autoset + Climateline
I just bought a new S9 Autoset Elite with the H5i humidifier and ClimateLine hose. Contrary to just about everyone else's experience, I have been getting a lot of rainout in my mask. The Autoset unit recognizes that the ClimateLine hose is attached (the humidifier icons and controls change, so it se...

Mirage Activa LT: headaches!
I have been trying out the Mirage Active LT for the last week. The mask seems great in every way except one, very critical way: I get terrible headaches after using it for 3-4 hours. As far as I can tell, the forehead stabilizers are pressing too hard into my head. I have loosened them as much as I ...

47 days in, and feeling hopeful
I've asked some questions and gotten lots of useful advice on this forum, so perhaps you all would be interested in an update. It has been 47 days since I got on the hose, and things seem to be going pretty well. How do I feel? Most days are pretty good, some are not so good, but on the whole, I fee...

Re: Good nasal pillow mask for side sleeping?
Wow, thanks for all the recommendations! Lots to choose from. Maybe we can narrow it down a bit: I apparently have small nares The size small Opus pillows work great me. I had issues with both the small and medium Mirage Swift II pillows - they would be OK for a couple of hours, and then start leaki...

Good nasal pillow mask for side sleeping?
My current mask, the Opus 360, has been working pretty well for me when I sleep on my back, but when I shift to my side, the side straps push on my (memory foam) pillow and often cause leaks. I notice that I also like to sleep with my nose inclined towards (and even burrowing into) the pillow, which...

Re: Solving mouth leaks and other issues
I'm a user of the 3M gentle paper tape (Micropore, I think). That works pretty well for me. The advice from LinkC about the "granny-face" lips is right on. Every once in a while I manage to create lip boo-boos for myself. The key is to peel the tape off *slowly* in the morning. You are right about ...

Re: Solving mouth leaks and other issues
Last night I tried micropore tape. It held, and I slept well!
My mouth was a little dry in the morning, but nothing like when I didn't use tape.

Re: Solving mouth leaks and other issues
The painters tape failed again last night (meaning I slept little meaning today is going to hurt ).
Thanks for the tape and technique recommendations. I did eyeball the duct tape in the store, but fortunately common sense prevailed.

Re: Solving mouth leaks and other issues
Just something on the leak rate - the machine only reports leak rate in steps of 7 - see the stairsteps in the graph? So your 31 average looks good, and not impossible. Ah, that makes sense. What to make of periods of time of very low leakage, such as the time spent under 25 during the first hour?

Solving mouth leaks and other issues
I've had my CPAP machine for a few weeks now and have been playing whack-a-mole with some classic problems, such as mask leaks and mouth leaks. I recently switched to the Opus 360, and am doing better with mask leaks, but I woke up with a little water in the mask last night (but none at all in the h...
